Wanwiset Kaennorsing
Phongsit Veangviseth (born 22 January 1972) also known as Wanwiset Kaennorasing (วันวิเศษ แก่นนรสิงห์) is a Thai boxer and Muay Thai kickboxer. In amateur boxing he competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 2000 Summer Olympics in Lightweight division. Career Veangviseth born in Mueang Khon Kaen District, Khon Kaen Province in boxer family, his family runs a Muay Thai gym. His father was a former Muay Thai kickboxer under the name "Kingkanha Sakpramuan" (กิ่งกัญหา ศักดิ์ประมวล). Veangviseth, fighting as Wanwiset was a notable fighter during the "golden era" of Muay Thai where he received purses of hundreds of thousands of baht per bout. He made his debut in Bangkok in 1991 with a regular fight at Rajadamnern Stadium. Somluck Kamsing (name used in the 1996 Summer Olympics) or Somrak Kamsing ( th, สมรักษ์ คำสิงห์; ; born January 16, 1973) is a Thai kickboxer and Olympic gold medal-winning amateur boxer. During the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand, Kamsing lit the torch during the Games' opening ceremony. Kamsing was born in Khon Kaen. His older brother Somrot Kamsing also competed at the highest level as an amateur boxer. Amateur boxing career Somrak started to compete in amateur boxing in parallel as his muay thai career, he earned a bronze medal at the 1989 King's Cup and a gold medal in the 1995 edition. Yodkhunpon Sittraipum ( th, ยอดขุนพล ศิษย์ไตรภูมิ) is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who is a former Rajadamnern and Lumpinee Stadium champion. He is considered one of the best "Muay Sok" (elbow fighter) in Muay Thai history. Biography and career Yodkhunpon started training and fighting Muay Thai at the age of twelve at Sitraipum camp which was just a field with rudimental equipment, no ring in the Roi Et Province. He received his ring name under the teaching Thongpon Kwamsawat. Yodkhunpon followed his team when it moved to establish an actual gym called Lukjaopomehsak. Chatchai Paiseetong ( th, ฉัตรชัย ไผ่สีทอง) was a Thai Muay Thai fighter. He was a two-times Lumpinee Stadium champion and Sports Authority of Thailand fighter of the year during the golden era of Muay Thai. Biography & career His nickname ''Samart 2'' is a reference to the Muay Thai legendary Samart Payakaroon who trained at the same gym. Paiseetong was compared to him for his elegance and technical proficiency in the ring. His peak happened during the year 1993 at the age of 19. Chamuakpet Hapalang ( th, ฉมวกเพชร ห้าพลัง; born: August 10, 1962 in Amphoe Si Racha, Chonburi province, eastern Thailand) is a retired Thai Muay Thai fighter who won five different weight classes, was champion of the Lumpinee Stadium and the Rajadamnern Stadium and was also a professional boxer. Rajadamnern Stadium ( th, สนามมวยราชดำเนิน; ), also spelled ''Ratchadamnoen'', is a sporting arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Along with Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Rajadamnern is one of the two main stadiums for modern muay Thai. It hosts fights every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. The stadium has its own ranking system and championship titles up to middleweight (160 lbs). History In 1941, the prime minister of Thailand, Field Marshal Plaek Phibunsongkhram, gave orders to build a national boxing stadium on Rajadamnern Avenue.
