Wanjikũ is a feminine Kikuyu name. Historically, Wanjikũ was one of the nine daughters of the man and wife who founded the Agĩkũyũ people, Gĩkũyũ and Mũmbi. Consequently, the descendants of her lineage form the Agacikũ Clan of the Agĩkũyũ tribe in Kenya. Wanjiku The Teacher
Carolyne Wanjiku Tharau, most commonly known as Wanjiku the Teacher or Teacher Wanjiku, is a Kenyan comedian, actress and producer. She is the founder and CEO of ''Mwalimu Production,'' a content creating company where the character ''Teacher Wanjiku'' is improved and animated specifically for children. Career Wanjiku started the character of Teacher Wanjiku in a Heartstrings play called 43rd Kenyan tribe in 2007. Wanjiku Wa Ngũgĩ
Wanjikũ wa Ngũgĩ (born 1970s) is a Kenyan writer, who has lived and worked in Eritrea, Zimbabwe and Finland. She is the founder and former director of the Helsinki African Film Festival (HAFF). Also a political analyst, she is a member of the editorial board of '' Matatu: Journal for African Literature and Culture and Society'', and has been a columnist for the Finnish development magazine '' Maailman Kuvalehti''. Teresa Wanjiku Mbugua (born 7 May 1974) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competed in road running and cross country running disciplines. She ran distances from the 10K run to the marathon and was active from 1997 to 2011. Wanjiku represented Kenya at the 1999 IAAF World Cross Country Championships and placed eighth in the women's short race. Mercy Wanjiku
Mercy Wanjiku Njoroge (born 10 June 1986) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specialises in the steeplechase. She finished fourth in 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2004 World Junior Championships as well as in the junior race at the 2005 World Cross Country Championships. She claimed the steeplechase title at the 2005 African Junior Athletics Championships. Moving into the senior ranks, at the 2006 World Cross Country Championships she finished twelfth in the long race, helping the Kenyans to the silver medal in the team competition. She was fifth in the steeplechase at both the 2007 All-Africa Games and 2008 African Championships in Athletics. Njoroge won the silver medal in the steeplechase behind Milcah Chemos Cheywa at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. Gĩkũyũ People
The Kikuyu (also ''Agĩkũyũ/Gĩkũyũ'') are a Bantu ethnic group native to Central Kenya. At a population of 8,148,668 as of 2019, they account for 17.13% of the total population of Kenya, making them Kenya's largest ethnic group. The term ''Kikuyu'' is derived from the Swahili form of the word Gĩkũyũ. is derived from the word mũkũyũ which means sycamore fig (''mũkũyũ'') tree".
