Wāng (汪) is a Chinese surname. It was 104th of the ''Hundred Family Surnames'' poem, contained in the verse Yáo, Shào, Zhàn, Wāng (姚邵湛汪). In 2013, the Fuxi Cultural Association found the name to be the 60th most common in China, being shared by around 48.3 million people or 0.360% of the population, with the province with the largest population being Anhui. 2005 WGC-World Cup
The 2005 WGC-World Cup took place 17–20 November at the Oceânico Golf on its Victoria Course in Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal. It was the 51st World Cup and the sixth as a World Golf Championship event. The course was designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 2004, the year before it hosted the World Cup. Eleven years after this tournament, in 2016, Dom Pedro Golf acquired the Victoria Course and four other Vilamoura courses from Oceânico Golf. 24 countries competed and each country sent two players. The World Cup of Golf is a men's golf tournament contested by teams of two representing their country. Only one team is allowed from each country. The players are selected on the basis of the Official World Golf Ranking, although not all of the first choice players choose to compete. The equivalent event for women was the Women's World Cup of Golf, played from 2005 to 2008. History The tournament was founded by Canadian industrialist John Jay Hopkins, who hoped it would promote international goodwill through golf. It began in 1953 as the Canada Cup and changed its name to the World Cup in 1967. The 1991 Dunhill Cup was the seventh Dunhill Cup. It was a team tournament featuring 16 countries, each represented by three players. The Cup was played 10–13 October at the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland. The sponsor was the Alfred Dunhill company. The Swedish team of Anders Forsbrand, Per-Ulrik Johansson, and Mats Lanner beat the South African team of John Bland, David Frost, and Gary Player in the final. The final match was scheduled to consist of six individual matches (as in 1989 and 1990) but was reduced to three matches (as from 1985 to 1988) due to weather. Dunhill Cup
The Alfred Dunhill Cup was a team golf tournament which ran from 1985 to 2000, sponsored by Alfred Dunhill Ltd. It was for three-man teams of professional golfers, one team representing each country, and was promoted as the "World Team Championship". It was a "special approved event" on the European Tour, which means that it was supported by the Tour, but the prize money did not count towards the Tour's Order of Merit. The host course was the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland. The stature of the members of the American team was variable as the Dunhill Cup clashed with a PGA Tour event, though the fact that it was played at "The Home of Golf" helped to attract some star names. Hsieh Chin-sheng
Hsieh Chin-sheng (, born 5 February 1963) is a Taiwanese professional golfer. He won twice on the 1988 Asia Golf Circuit, the Hong Kong Open and the Philippine Open. Amateur career Hsieh played for the Republic of China in the 1985 Nomura Cup in Australia, where the team finished second, and in the 1986 Eisenhower Trophy in Venezuela, where they finished third. He had the fourth best individual score in the Eisenhower Trophy event. Professional career Hsieh turned professional in 1986 after the Eisenhower Trophy. He played on the Asia Golf Circuit in 1987 but his best result was in the NST Niigata Open on the Japan Golf Tour where he was a joint runner-up behind Tadao Nakamura.
