Wang River
The Wang River ( th, แม่น้ำวัง, , ) is a river in northern Thailand. Geography The Wang River is long. Its waters flow from north to south. The Wang River has its source in the Phi Pan Nam Range in Wiang Pa Pao District, Chiang Rai Province. One of the principal settlements along the river is Lampang, which is on the north bank of a curve in the river. From Lampang, the river flows southwards passing by Thoen into Tak Province. It joins the Ping River near Mae Salit, Ban Tak District, north of the town of Tak. The Ping River is a tributary of the Chao Phraya River. Thoen District
Thoen ( th, เถิน, ) is a district (''amphoe'') in the southern part of Lampang province, northern Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise): Soem Ngam, Sop Prap of Lampang Province, Wang Chin of Phrae province, Si Satchanalai, Thung Saliam, Ban Dan Lan Hoi of Sukhothai province, Ban Tak, Sam Ngao of Tak province, Mae Phrik of Lampang Province again, Li and Thung Hua Chang of Lamphun province. Khun Tan Range
The Khun Tan Range ( th, ทิวเขาขุนตาน or, erroneously, ทิวเขาขุนตาล) is a mountain range that occupies a central position in Northern Thailand. Most of the range is located in Chiang Mai, western Chiang Rai, Lampang and Lamphun Provinces. The geological composition of the Khun Tan mountains is different from the neighboring Thanon Thong Chai Range in the west and the Daen Lao Range in the north. Precambrian rocks are absent in this mountain chain which is thus not part of the Shan Hills system. ''Soi'' ( th, ซอย ) is the term used in Thailand for a side-street branching off a major street (''thanon'', th, ถนน). An alley is called a ''trok'' ( th, ตรอก). Overview Sois are usually numbered, and are referred to by the name of the major street and the number, as in "Soi Sukhumvit 4", "Sukhumvit Soi 4", or "Sukhumvit 4", all referring to the fourth soi of Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok. When walking on the major street towards increasing soi numbers, all the even-numbered sois are on the right side and the odd-numbered ones on the left side of the street.
