Wando High School
Wando High School (often shortened to "Wando") is a public high school within the Charleston County School District, located in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, United States. The school serves students living in Mount Pleasant and other suburban portions of eastern Charleston County. Established in 1973, the school was re-built in 2004 to accommodate the town's rapid growth during the 1990s. History Wando High School takes its name from the nearby Wando River, a major tributary of the Cooper River that divides Charleston and Mount Pleasant. The school opened in 1973 shortly after desegregation was completed in Charleston County. In 2004, the new facility at 1000 Warrior Way in Mount Pleasant opened its doors. In 2009, principal Lucy Beckham was named the 2010 MetLife/ National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) National Secondary Principal of the Year. Travis Jervey
Travis Richard Jervey (born May 5, 1972) is a former American football running back. He played for the Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers, and Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL). With the Packers, he won Super Bowl XXXI over the New England Patriots and participated in the 1998 Pro Bowl. The Portland Thorns FC is an American professional women's soccer team based in Portland, Oregon. Established in 2012, the team began play in 2013 in the then-eight-team National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), which receives support from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). The Portland franchise is owned by Peregrine Sports LLC, which also owns the Portland Timbers. Melanie Janene Thornton (May 13, 1967 – November 24, 2001) was an German-American pop and dance music singer. She was the lead singer of the Eurodance group La Bouche from 1994 to 2000, alongside American rapper Lane McCray. Their two most successful singles, " Sweet Dreams" and " Be My Lover", were released in 1994 and 1995 respectively. After leaving the group, Thornton began a solo career and found success primarily in European countries before her death in 2001. Barry Devon Richardson (born May 15, 1986) is a former American football offensive tackle. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft.
