Wanderley (footballer, Born 1988)
Wanderley Santos Monteiro Júnior, or simply Wanderley (born October 11, 1988 in Campinas), is a Brazilian forward who plays for Ponte Preta. Career Ponte Preta Wanderley came through the youth ranks with Ponte Preta, and was called up to the senior squad for the 2006 Campeonato Paulista season. His performances in the tournament, scoring a total of three goals, second most in the team, earned him a new contract with the club. Despite being reassigned to the youth department, he still made 11 substitute appearances in 2006 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, including a debut in the 3–2 win over Corinthians on 30 April 2006. In the 2008 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B he scored three goals in the first two months of the competition, causing Cruzeiro to show an interest and sign him on a three-year contract in July 2008, paying a fee to buy out the last year of his Ponte Preta contract. Walter Wanderley (born Walter Jose Wanderley Mendonça, May 12, 1932 – September 4, 1986) was a Brazilian organist and pianist, best known for his lounge music, lounge and bossa nova music and for his instrumental version of the song ''Summer Samba'' which became a worldwide hit. Biography Wanderley was born in Recife, Brazil. Already famous in his native country by the late 1950s, he became an internationally renowned star in the mid-1960s through his collaboration with the singer Astrud Gilberto. He recorded six albums on the Verve Records, Verve label between 1966 and 1968. Wanderley Machado da Silva (3 June 1938 – 5 March 2020), known simply as Wanderley, was a Brazilian footballer who played as a forward. Club career Born in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Wanderley began his career at CR Vasco da Gama. Profiting from his brother's signature with Valencia CF he also moved to Europe, but after being shown the door by the latter club, joined neighbouring Elche CF. In 1962 Wanderley signed for Levante UD also in the Valencian Community, being only registered on 1 January 1963. He enjoyed a prolific first season, scoring 12 goals in only 16 matches and being promoted to La Liga. Wanderley made his debut in the Spanish top division on 15 September 1963, in a 4–4 away draw against RCD Español. He scored his first goal in the competition on the 28th, but in a 5–3 loss at Valencia. Wanderley Paiva Monteiro (born 7 April 1946), commonly known as Wanderley Paiva or as Vanderlei Paiva, is a Brazilian professional football coach and former player. He was a defensive midfielder who played mostly for Atlético Mineiro, and also represented the Brazil national team at international level. Paiva won the Bola de Prata in 1971.
