Wamanrao Sadolikar
Pandit Wamanrao Sadolikar (16 September 1907 – 25 March 1991) was a Hindustani classical music, Hindustani classical vocalist of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana founded by his guru, Alladiya Khan, Utd. Alladiya Khan. Early life Pt. Wamanrao Sadolikar was born into a family of music lovers in Kolhapur. As a teenager, he studied classical music under Vishnu Digambar Paluskar, Pt. V. D. Paluskar of the Gwalior Gharana. Career Sadolikar's career put him into many roles on the stages of Marathi people, Marathi Natya Sangeet, as a singer-actor, a music director and a director. He also had several film appearances. He studied music under Bhurji Khan, Utd. Bhurji Khan and Alladiya Khan, Utd. Gandharva Mahavidyalaya
Gandharva Mahavidyalaya New Delhi is an institution established in 1939 to popularize Indian classical music and dance. The Mahavidyalaya (school) came into being to perpetuate the memory of Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskar, the great reviver of Hindustani classical music, and to keep up the ideals set down by him.
