Walter Stern (director)
Walter Adrian Stern (born 16 November 1965 in Marylebone, London) is an English music video film director. Biography Walter Stern was born in 1965 to an Austrian-Jewish father and an English mother. Music videos Stern began his career directing music videos at Control, a small production company based in London. In 1993, he moved to production company Stigma Films where he first directed a promo for the band The Prodigy. Their collaboration continued throughout the mid to late 1990s, including two critically acclaimed and award-winning promos in 1996: " Firestarter", which won Best Video in the ''NME'' People's Choice Award 1996, and " Breathe", which won Best Video at the MTV Europe Music Awards 1997. Stern joined Academy Films in 1997, introducing himself with the video for The Verve's " Bitter Sweet Symphony". The 1998 MTV Europe Music Awards took place in Assago, near Milan, Italy. The ceremony was hosted by former ''Playboy'' model, actress and comedian Jenny McCarthy. On this year 6 new categories were introduced including the MTV Selects; UK and Ireland, Northern, Central and Southern. The big winner of the night were the Spice Girls and Madonna with two awards. Melanie C, alias Sporty Spice, and Emma Bunton, known as Baby Spice, collected the trophy on behalf of the group. On receiving the award, Mel C shouted: "We've done it again". Audio Bullys are an English electronic music project, originally consisting of Simon Franks and Tom Dinsdale. The group were once managed by the DJ and presenter George Lamb. Franks and Dinsdale released their debut album '' Ego War'' in 2003, and two years later followed up with ''Generation'', which featured a collaboration with Suggs and keyboardist Mike Barson of Madness on the track "This Road" and a collaboration with Suggs and Madness saxophonist Lee Thompson on the subsequent track "Struck by the Sound". "The Prayer" is a song by English rock band Bloc Party. It was released as the lead single from their second studio album, '' A Weekend in the City'', except in the U.S. where it is the second single. " I Still Remember" was the first song from the album to be released in North America. It was released by Wichita Recordings on 29 January 2007 and is the band's highest charting single worldwide. The lyrics deal with drug use in nightclubs and party environments. Band frontman Kele Okereke says he was inspired to write the song after hearing Busta Rhymes' song " Touch It". Bloc Party
Bloc Party are an English Rock music, rock band, composed of Kele Okereke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, sampler), Russell Lissack (lead guitar, keyboards), Justin Harris (bass guitar, keyboards, saxophones, backing vocals) and Louise Bartle (drums, percussion). Former members Matt Tong and Gordon Moakes left the band in 2013 and 2015 respectively. Stereo MC's are an English hip hop/ electronic dance group which formed in Nottingham, England, in 1985. They had an international top 20 hit with their single "Connected".
