Walter Schachner
Walter "Schoko" Schachner (born 1 February 1957) is a football manager and former player, who played as a forward. He made 64 appearances scoring 23 goals for the Austria national team. As he always brought chocolate to the games when he was a boy, he got the nickname ''schoko''. He was one of the most successful Austrian players in Italian football, as he played for four clubs over seven years. Club career Schachner was born in Leoben, Austria. Much-travelled, he started his professional career at local outfit Alpine Donawitz at 18 in the 1975–76 season, earning a place in the national team after only one and a half season. He was duly picked up by Vienna club Austria Wien but moved abroad to play in Italy for seven years, from 1981 to 1988, in A.C. Cesena (58 matches, 17 goals), Torino F.C. Leoben
Leoben () is a Styrian city in central Austria, located on the Mur river. With a population of about 25,000 it is a local industrial centre and hosts the University of Leoben, which specialises in mining. Christoph Daum
Christoph Paul Daum (born 24 October 1953) is a German professional football manager and former player. Daum played as a midfielder and was a junior for several clubs from the region of Duisburg. He began his senior career with Hamborn 07 and Eintracht Duisburg, before joining 1. FC Köln in 1975 and being part of the reserve team that won the 1980–81 German amateur football championship. As a manager, he won eight trophies with clubs from Germany, Turkey and Austria. Daum began his football career in 1971 in the youth league with Hamborn 07. The Austrian Football Bundesliga (german: Österreichische Fußball-Bundesliga, italic=no , "Austrian Football Federal League"), also known as Admiral Bundesliga for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of the Austrian football league system. The Austrian Football Second League (german: 2. Liga) is the second-highest professional division in Austrian football. It was formerly called the First League (''Erste Liga''), from 2002 to 2018. The "Disgrace of Gijón" is the name given to a 1982 FIFA World Cup football match played between West Germany and Austria at the El Molinón stadium in Gijón, Spain, on 25 June 1982. The match was the sixth and last game of the first-round Group 2, with the fifth game occurring on the previous day. Due to the way points were assigned in the group stage, a West German win would ensure that both Austria and West Germany advanced to the next round. West Germany scored the only goal in the first 10 minutes of the match, which progressively deteriorated to a virtual halt in the second half. ''Córdoba 1978'' (known in Austria as ''Das Wunder von Córdoba'' (The Miracle of Córdoba) and in Germany as ''Die Schmach von Córdoba'' or ''Die Schande von Córdoba'' (The Disgrace of Córdoba)), describes the game of football between Austria and defending World Champions West Germany that occurred on 21 June 1978 at the conclusion of the second round of the 1978 FIFA World Cup, in Córdoba, Argentina. The game is fondly remembered by fans of the Austria national team for being the first time in 47 years that Austria had defeated a team from either the Western or Eastern side of the then-partitioned Germany. Harald Cerny (; born 13 September 1973) is an Austrian former professional footballer who played as a right midfielder. He played mostly for TSV 1860 Munich. Club career After coming through the youth ranks at Admira Wacker, Cerny began his professional career at German club FC Bayern Munich in 1992–93, making his top division debut on 27 October 1992, in a 1–1 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt. Just after the start of the 1993–94 season (he appeared in three matches for the eventual champions), Cerny returned to Admira, where a good league season prompted a move to FC Tirol. During 1995–96, he returned to Munich, but with neighbours TSV 1860 Munich. The 1978 FIFA World Cup was the 11th edition of the FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial international football world championship tournament among the men's senior national teams.
