Walt Powell
Walter Lee Powell (born November 23, 1991) is a former American football wide receiver and return specialist. He played college football at Murray State. He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. After retiring from the NFL, Powell became part of the development team for a mobile app called Politiscope. College career Powell finished 17th in the 2013 Walter Payton Award voting. Professional career Arizona Cardinals Powell was drafted in the sixth round (196th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. He was waived on August 31, 2014 during final roster cuts. New York Jets Powell was claimed off waivers by the New York Jets on September 1, 2014. In 4 games of his rookie season of 2014, Powell returned 8 kickoffs for 233 yards and 12 punts for 48 yards. Walter Powell (politician)
Walter Powell (17 April 1842 – 10 December 1881) was a Welsh colliery owner and Conservative politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1868 to 1881. He was carried out over the English Channel in a balloon and never seen again. Early life and education Powell was the son of Thomas Powell of Newport, Monmouthshire and his wife Anne Williams, daughter of Walter Williams. His father had interests in coal, railways and shipping and was one of the world's largest coal producers in the 1840s. His company now operates under the name of Powell Duffryn plc in the areas of ports and engineering, although the coal and railway interests were nationalised in the 1940s. Powell was the youngest of three brothers and had three sisters. He was educated at Rugby School and continued in the family business.
