Walter Möller
Walter Möller (7 April 1920 - 16 November 1971) was a German politician who served as the Mayor of Frankfurt from 1970 until his death in 1971. Life Möller was born to Karl and Maria Möller (née Ploennigs), a working-class couple living in the Bornheim area of Frankfurt. His father was a blacksmith who was active in SPD politics. After the rise of the Nazi Party to power in Germany, Möller began training to become a book printer, but left to join the Luftwaffe in 1937. After the end of the war, Möller studied at the Academy of Labour in Frankfurt, graduating in February 1948. He then worked for Radio Frankfurt, before joining the Frankfurt City Council as a member of the SPD. From 1949 he was the editor of the party magazine for the Hessen SPD. The Mayor of Frankfurt (German: (male) or (female), sometimes translated as "Lord Mayor") is the highest-ranking member of city government in Frankfurt, Germany. The mayor was traditionally elected by the city council. This system was replaced in 1995, and the position has been directly elected. Frankfurt U-Bahn
The Frankfurt U-Bahn is a Stadtbahn system serving Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany. Together with the Rhine-Main S-Bahn and the Frankfurt Straßenbahn, it forms the backbone of the public transport system in Frankfurt. Its name derives from the German term for underground, ''Untergrundbahn''. Since 1996, the U-Bahn has been owned and operated by (VGF), the public transport company of Frankfurt, and is part of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) transport association. Werner Bockelmann
Werner Bockelmann (23 September 1907 – 7 April 1968) was a German lawyer and politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, who served as the Mayor of Frankfurt between 1957 and 1964. Early life and education Bockelmann was born in Moscow to a German banker, , and fellow German Anna Bockelmann (née Förster). The family was quite rich. In 1920, the Bockelmann family moved to Germany. After attending the Gelehrtenschule des Johanneums in Hamburg, Bockelmann studied Law at the universities of Dresden, Hamburg, Göttingen and Graz. He became a lawyer in Hamburg in 1935. Bockelmann was the Chief of Staff of the Kriegsmarine between 1941 and 1945. Political career Bockelmann's first political experience was in the city of Lüneburg in Lower Saxony. He served as the Mayor of Lüneburg between 1945 and 1946, and became a city manager in 1946, staying in that role until 1955.
