Walter Kennedy (poet)
Walter Kennedy (ca. 1455 – c.1508), younger brother of John Kennedy, 2nd Lord Kennedy of Dunure. Clan Kennedy. He was parson of Douglas who acquired Glentig in 1504 from John Wallace, and married Christian Hynd. Kennedy was born into the Scottish Clan Kennedy, a principal aristocratic family in Dunure, South Ayrshire. This was part of the Galloway Gàidhealtachd, a strong Gaelic-speaking area of the Scottish Lowlands. He was almost certain to have been a native speaker of the language. Educated at the University of Glasgow, he graduated in 1476, then obtained an MA in 1478. As great-grandson of Robert III and nephew of James Kennedy, bishop of St Andrews, Kennedy would have been very well-connected in the royal court. He possessed estates in both Carrick and Galloway and is known to have held ecclesiastical posts such as rector of Douglas and canon of Glasgow Cathedral although records show that his right to hold at least one of his posts was contested by the ...

Walter Kennedy ( – 21 July 1721) was an English pirate who served as a crew member under Howell Davis and Bartholomew Roberts. Early life Walter Kennedy was born in 1695 at a place called Pelican Stairs in Wapping, London.Hayward, Arthur L., ''Lives of the Most Remarkable Criminals'' Possibly one or both of his parents were of Irish descent due to the fact that Bartholomew Roberts considered him to be Irish. Born to a poor family, Kennedy was illiterate and was known to have a bad temper. He was a burglar and pickpocket in London. Later he became an apprentice to his father, who was an anchor smith; he carried out house-breaking in his spare time. His apprenticeship however, came to an end with the death of his father, and he decided to go to sea. He served in the Royal Navy during the War of the Spanish Succession, where he heard tales of pirates from Henry Morgan to Henry Every, and dreamed of becoming a pirate himself. Wally Kennedy is a Philadelphia television and radio announcer. He hosted ''AM Philadelphia'' (later ''AM Live''), ''Philly After Midnight'', and ''Inside Story'' on WPVI-TV over a twenty-year period. Early life He is a native of Chicago, where he graduated from Columbia College Chicago. Career His programs won their respective time periods in the Nielsen ratings, remaining the most successful talk programs in the TV market. He hosted a local, news-driven Sunday morning talk program, ''Sunday Live'', on WPVI. He was among a handful of broadcasters to be honored by the Philadelphia City Council for outstanding service. He appeared on CNN, NBC and ABC television networks, at different times, to discuss stories he covered. Kennedy was profiled in ''Philadelphia Magazine'', ''The Philadelphia Inquirer'', ''The Philadelphia Daily News'' and ''Philadelphia City Paper''.
