Wally Albright
Wally Albright (born Walton Algernon Albright Jr.; September 3, 1925 - August 7, 1999) was an American actor, water sportsman, and businessman. As a child actor, he was best known for his role in the ''Our Gang'' film series. Career The son of Wally and Lois Albright, he was born in Burbank, California. He was seen in a film with Gloria Swanson in 1928. Sob sister was an American term in the early 20th century for reporters (usually women) who specialized in newspaper articles (often called "sob stories") with emphasis on the human interest angle using language of sentimentality. The derogatory label was coined in 1907 during coverage of a murder trial. Origin The term "sob sister" dates to 1907, when Irvin S. Cobb derided the women reporters who were covering the trial of Harry K. Thaw for murder. ''Sob brother'' was less commonly used for male reporters who wrote similar articles. By 1910, sob sister was in common use to describe any woman reporter and was sometimes used to describe women novelists such as Fanny Hurst. Years later, a review of Truman Capote's ''In Cold Blood'' described the book as "sob sister gothic". ''Salvation Nell'' is a 1931 American Pre-Code drama film produced and directed by James Cruze and distributed by Tiffany Films, a company then on the brink of ceasing operations. The film is based on Edward Sheldon's 1908 Broadway play which starred Minnie Maddern Fiske and Holbrook Blinn. Two silent versions were produced: in 1915 with Beatriz Michelena and in 1921 with Pauline Starke. Ralph Graves and Helen Chandler star in this film.
