Wallace Collins
Wallace Collins (born April 11, 1941) is an American politician. Prior to his political career, Collins worked as a machinist. He faced Republican Steve Byas in 1996 election, and succeeded Ed Crocker as member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives from the 45th district. Collins won reelection in 1998, then lost to Thad Balkman twice, in 2000 and 2002. From 2001 to 2005, he led the Cleveland County Democratic Party. He returned to the state house in 2007, by defeating Balkman. Collins faced Aaron Stiles in 2008. He was unseated by Stiles' second campaign in 2010. Oklahoma Democratic Party
The Oklahoma Democratic Party is an Oklahoma political party affiliated with the Democratic Party. Along with the Oklahoma Republican Party, it is one of the two major parties in Oklahoma politics. The party dominated local politics in Oklahoma almost since the days of early statehood in 1907 to 1994. In national politics, the party became a dominant force beginning with the presidential election of 1932 and the Franklin D. Roosevelt political re-alignment. From 1932 to 1994, the majority of members of Congress from Oklahoma have been Democrats, and of the 27 men and women who have been elected to the office of Governor of Oklahoma, 22 have been Democrats. Ed Crocker
Ed Crocker (born February 28, 1948) is an American politician. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on February 28, 1948. Crocker earned an associate degree from Pasadena City College, then attended the University of California at Berkeley, where he finished a bachelor's degree. Crocker graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1985 with a master's degree in public administration. He was active in several local civic groups and worked for the Oklahoma Senate. Crocker sat on the Norman City Council starting in 1989, resigning the next year to run for the Oklahoma House of Representatives. He won reelection against Republican Steve Byas twice, in 1992 and 1994. Crocker left the state house in 1996 to face J. C. Watts, as Watts sought reelection to the United States House of Representatives from Oklahoma's 4th congressional district. Thad Balkman
Thad H. Balkman (born October 23, 1971) is an American politician, lawyer and judge. Early life and education Balkman grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with his family in Long Beach, California, attending Long Beach Polytechnic High School. His home in Long Beach was the house used as the titular character's home in ''Ferris Bueller's Day Off''. He attended Brigham Young University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 1994. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1998. Aaron Stiles
Aaron Stiles (born August 20, 1979) is an American politician and lawyer. Stiles served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard and attended the University of Oklahoma. He later worked as a lawyer. Stiles first ran for a seat on the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2008, losing to incumbent Wallace Collins. Stiles, a Republican, defeated Collins in 2010, and won reelection against Paula Roberts in 2012. Stiles lost his seat to Claudia Griffith in 2014.
