Walker-Ewing-Glass Log House
The Walker-Ewing-Glass Log House is a log cabin, log house located on Pinkerton Run Road in Settler's Cabin Park, North Fayette Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. It may have been built in the 1780s by a man named John Henry. In 1785, Isaac and Gabriel Walker acquired the land, and Gabriel built the nearby Walker-Ewing Log House around the same time. The Walker-Ewing-Glass Log House was added to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 1970. Settler's Cabin Park
Settlers Cabin Park is a county park in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is a part of the county's 12,000 acre (49 km2) network of nine distinct parks. It is sited west of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh in Collier Township, Pennsylvania, Collier, North Fayette Township, Pennsylvania, North Fayette, and Robinson Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Robinson Townships. Archaeologists from Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Museum of Natural History helped identify the 1780s log house that gives the park its name. The themes of the 11 picnic groves are Indian names: Algonquin, Seneca, Apache, Tomahawk, etc. Settlers Cabin has the most heavily used of the county's three wave pools. The location along the major route to the airport makes it accessible, and swimmers from Ohio and West Virginia can easily reach the site. An impressive diving platform adds to the attraction. Walker-Ewing Log House
The Walker-Ewing Log House is an historic, eighteenth century loghouse located in Collier Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Owned and managed by the Pioneers West Historical Society beginning in the 1990s, the home and land were acquired by the Allegheny Land Trust in 2020 with oversight responsibility for the building's preservation and easement given to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. History Construction on the log cabin began circa 1762 and was completed circa 1790. The home of Gabriel Walker, the structure was built on property that was originally part of a 437-acre tract of land that had been rendered as payment for military service performed during the American Revolution.
