John Hayes (director)
John Patrick Hayes (March 1, 1930 – August 21, 2000) was an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. He began his career as a screenwriter, writing 1959's ''The Kiss'', which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Short Film. Hayes is best known for directing low-budget B-movie features and later, exploitation films. Biography Hayes was born March 1, 1930, in New York City to first-generation Irish American parents. His parents divorced when he was four years old, after which he was raised by his grandmother and uncle. He had a sister, Dolores, who was raised separately from him in a Catholic convent, and subsequently developed schizophrenia as an adult. After spending two years in the United States Navy, Hayes returned to New York City and began studying acting with Erwin Piscator. Career Hayes began his career in the 1950s producing and directing short films. In 1959, he was nominated for an Academy Award for the short film ''The Kiss''. In 1961, ... ''Girl in Gold Boots'' is a 1968 crime/drama film about the seedy underworld of go-go dancing, directed by Ted V. Mikels, who also directed ''The Astro-Zombies''. It was Mikels' first movie for his own company, Gemini. Plot Michele is a young woman working with her abusive father at a diner. She quits her waitressing job when she meets a patron, Buz, who initially came in to rob the place at gunpoint instead invites her to Los Angeles where he promises Michele his sister, the famous Joan Nickels, can land her a job as a dancer at a Hollywood nightclub. The two drive off to L.A. and pick up a traveling musician, Critter. Once in Hollywood, Michele immediately lands a job as a go-go dancer, Critter as a janitor, and Buz as a drug dealer. Eddi-Rue McClanahan (February 21, 1934 – June 3, 2010) was an American actress and comedian best known for her roles on television as Vivian Harmon on '' Maude'' (1972–78), Aunt Fran Crowley on ''Mama's Family'' (1983–84), and Blanche Devereaux on ''The Golden Girls'' (1985–92), for which she won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 1987. She was the daughter of Dreda Rheua-Nell ( Medaris), a beautician, and William Edwin "Bill" McClanahan, a building contractor. The Film Crew
The Film Crew was a comedic team similar to ''Mystery Science Theater 3000'' and was released in 2007. It comprised former '' MST3K'' cast members Michael J. Nelson, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy. They hosted Legend Films' colorized Three Stooges DVD release, packing in the four Stooge shorts that have fallen into the public domain: ''Disorder in the Court'' (1936), ''Malice in the Palace'' (1949), ''Sing a Song of Six Pants'', and ''Brideless Groom'' (both 1947). The Film Crew also maintained a website with humor columns and other content geared toward its fans, and contributed comedy segments to NPR.
