Adelaide Cilley Waldron
Adelaide Cilley Waldron (, Cilley; pen name, A. C. Waldron; February 23, 1843 – June 16, 1909) was an American author and editor of the long nineteenth century. She wrote poems, hymns, sonnets, children's stories, essays, and letters for newspapers, as well as articles for educational and historical journals. ''Farmington'' was published in 1904. Waldron was an accomplished musician and a Woman's club movement in the United States, clubwoman. She was associated with the Daughters of the American Revolution (D. A. R.), Woman's Christian Temperance Union (W. C. T. U.), New England Woman's Press Association (N. E. W. P. A.), and other organizations. Mal Waldron
Malcolm Earl "Mal" Waldron (August 16, 1925 – December 2, 2002) was an American jazz pianist, composer, and arranger. He started playing professionally in New York in 1950, after graduating from college. In the following dozen years or so Waldron led his own bands and played for those led by Charles Mingus, Jackie McLean, John Coltrane, and Eric Dolphy, among others. During Waldron's period as house pianist for Prestige Records in the late 1950s, he appeared on dozens of albums and composed for many of them, including writing his most famous song, "Soul Eyes", for Coltrane. Waldron was often an accompanist for vocalists, and was Billie Holiday's regular accompanist from April 1957 until her death in July 1959. A breakdown caused by a drug overdose in 1963 left Waldron unable to play or remember any music; he regained his skills gradually, while redeveloping his speed of thought. Thomas Westbrook Waldron
Thomas Westbrook Waldron was a prominent political figure in Dover, New Hampshire, and a military officer that fought in the Siege of Louisbourg (1745), Siege of Louisbourg of 1745. He later became a commissioner at Albany, New York, and then a royal councillor in 1782. During the American Revolution, Waldron abandoned his loyalist friend, British colonial governor of New Hampshire Sir John Wentworth, 1st Baronet, John Wentworth, to become a patriot of the United States. Family Waldron was born into a wealthy family in Dover, New Hampshire. Waldron's great grandfather was Richard Waldron. His grandfather was Thomas Westbrook, who distinguished himself in Father Rale's War. He married Constance Davis of Durham, New Hampshire, about 1755. Richard Russell Waldron was a purser "and special agent" in the Wilkes Expedition, together with younger brother Thomas Westbrook Waldron (consul). Richard Waldron (1694–1753) was a major opponent of the Wentworth oligarchy in colonial New Hampshire. He supported a continued political subordination of New Hampshire to Massachusetts and opposed moves to separation from this traditional senior partner. Adelbert Waldron
Adelbert F. "Bert" Waldron III (March 14, 1933 – October 18, 1995) was a United States Army sniper who served during the Vietnam War with the 9th Infantry Division. Until 2011, Waldron held the record for most confirmed kills by any American sniper (109 confirmed kills). Early life Adelbert was born 14 March 1933 to Adeline Baxter Waldron and Adelbert F. Waldron, a parking lot operator, detective agency employee, fireman and school bus driver in Syracuse, New York. He had two sisters.
