Waldemar Achramowicz
Waldemar Kazimierz Achramowicz (born 3 November 1949 in Toruń, Poland) is a Polish politician who is a current Member of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Regional Assembly. Between 1999 and 2006 he was Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal. He was Toruń City Councillors also (1994–1998). In 1998 Polish local election he joined the Regional Assembly I term representing the 4th district. Assembly elected him as Voivodeship Marshal (''Marszałek Województwa Kujawsko-Pomorskiego''), chairperson of voivodeship executive board. In 2002 Polish local election he was elected again. He polled 14,652 votes and was first on the Democratic Left Alliance-Labor Union list. Assembly II term elected him as Voivodeship Marshal again. In 2006 local election he was elected third time. Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship
Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, also known as Cuiavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship or simply Kujawsko-Pomorskie, or Kujawy-Pomerania Province ( pl, województwo kujawsko-pomorskie ) is one of the 16 voivodeships (provinces) into which Poland is divided. It was created on 1 January 1999 and is situated in mid-northern Poland, on the boundary between the two historic regions from which it takes its name: Kuyavia ( pl, Kujawy) and Pomerania ( pl, Pomorze). Its two chief cities, serving as the province's joint capitals, are Bydgoszcz and Toruń. History The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship was created on 1 January 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms adopted in 1998. It consisted of territory from the former Bydgoszcz, Toruń and Włocławek Voivodeships. Left and Democrats ( pl, Lewica i Demokraci, LiD) was a centre-left electoral alliance of political parties in Poland which was created on 3 September 2006, before the Warsaw municipal election of 2006. The coalition's aim was to provide an alternative for both Law and Justice and Civic Platform, which have been Poland's two major political parties since 2005. LiD contested their first national election in October, 2007 and won 53 seats to the Polish parliament, the Sejm. The LiD alliance was dissolved in April 2008, following a rift between the member parties. The 2006 Polish local elections were held in two parts. with its first round on November 12 and the second on November 26, 2006. In the election's first round, voters chose 39,944 gmina councillors, 6,284 powiat councillors and 561 deputies to provincial voivodeship sejmiks. 2002 Polish Local Elections
The 2002 Polish local elections were held in two parts, with the first round on 27 October and the second on 10 November 2002. All 16 provincial voivodeship sejmiks, 314 powiat county councils, 2,748 Gmina municipal councils, and town and city mayors were up for election. The event was the first of its kind to allow direct elections for mayors of municipalities.
