Walcyr Carrasco (born December 1, 1951) is a Brazilian author, film writer and television writer. Career Walcyr Rodrigues Carrasco was born on December 2, 1951, in Bernardino de Campos, São Paulo (State), São Paulo. Writer, playwright and screenwriter, began his professional career as a journalist. His first published book was ''Quando Meu Irmãozinho Nasceu''. Since then, still in children's literature, he wrote and published several works, among them ''A Menina que Queria Ser Anjo'', ''Cadê o Super-herói?'', ''Abaixo o Bicho Papão'', ''Quem Quer Sonhar'', ''Meu Encontro com Papai Noel'' and ''O Mistério da Gruta''. As a playwright, Walcyr Carrasco wrote success stories such as ''Batom'' (1995), which revealed the actress Ana Paula Arósio, and ''Êxtase'' (1997), for which he received the Shell award for best author. Bernardino de Campos is a municipality in the state of São Paulo (state), São Paulo in Brazil. The population is 11,158 (2020 est.) in an area of 244.2 km2. The elevation is . Monteiro Lobato
José Bento Renato Monteiro Lobato (18 April 1882 – 4 July 1948) was one of Brazil's most influential writers, mostly for his children's books set in the fictional Sítio do Picapau Amarelo (Yellow Woodpecker Farm) but he had been previously a prolific writer of fiction, a translator and an art critic. He also founded one of Brazil's first publishing houses (Companhia Editora Nacional) and was a supporter of nationalism. Lobato was born in Taubaté, São Paulo. ''Sítio do Picapau Amarelo'' (literally translated and roughly known as "''The Yellow Woodpecker Farm" or "The Yellow Woodpecker Ranch") is a series of 23 fantasy novels written by Brazilian author Monteiro Lobato between 1920 and 1940. The series is considered representative of Brazilian children's literature and as the Brazilian equivalent to children's classics such as C. S. Lewis, ''The Chronicles of Narnia'' and L. Rede Excelsior was a Brazilian television network founded by Mário Wallace Simonsen on July 9, 1960, in São Paulo, São Paulo. Its last broadcast happened on September 30, 1970, when the Brazilian military dictatorship put an abrupt end to it.
