Wakatenryū Yuzo
Wakatenryū Yuzo (born 1 January 1940 as Tatsuo Nakagawa) is a former sumo wrestler from Kyōto, Japan. He made his professional debut in March 1955 and reached the top division in September 1961. His highest rank was ''maegashira'' 1. He left the sumo world upon retirement from active competition in July 1969. Hanakago Stable
, formerly known as Shibatayama stable from September 1952 to May 1953, was a stable of sumo wrestlers, one of the Nishonoseki ''ichimon'' or group of stables. Founded by former ''maegashira'' Ōnoumi Hisamitsu. It closed in 1985 with all wrestlers and personnel moving to Hanaregoma stable. History A previous incarnation of the stable existed from 1929 to 1947, run by former ''sekiwake'' Misugiiso. This version had produced a couple of ''sekitori'', the highest ranking of which being Tominoyama. Upon Ōnoumi's retirement in May 1952 he branched off from Nishonoseki stable and created his own Shibatayama stable taking with him along with others the future ''yokozuna'' Wakanohana Kanji I. Tochinoumi
was a Japanese professional sumo wrestler from Aomori. He was the sport's 49th ''yokozuna'', earning promotion in 1964. He was somewhat overshadowed by his ''yokozuna'' contemporaries Taihō and Kashiwado, but he was a noted technician and earlier in his career won six special prizes for Technique. He was one of the lightest ''yokozuna'' ever at just 110 kg. After his retirement from active competition in 1966 he was a coach at Kasugano stable, and was head coach from 1990 until his retirement in 2003. Sumo
is a form of competitive full-contact wrestling where a ''rikishi'' (wrestler) attempts to force his opponent out of a circular ring (''dohyō'') or into touching the ground with any body part other than the soles of his feet (usually by throwing, shoving or pushing him down). List Of Sumo Tournament Second Division Champions
This is a list of wrestlers who have won the sumo second division ''jūryō'' championship since 1909, when the current championship system was established. These official tournaments are held exclusively in Japan. The wrestler who has won the most ''jūryō'' championships is Masurao, with five. Wakanami, Tagaryū and Terunofuji are the only wrestlers to have won a ''jūryō'' championship ''after'' winning a top division or ''makuuchi'' title.
