Alice Wairimu Nderitu is the United Nations Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide to United Nations Secretary General António Guterres. Dr. Wairimu Kiambuthi is a Kenyan academic and film director. Early life and education Kiambuthi was born in Kenya. In 1999, she wrote her dissertation at Teachers College, Columbia University, titled "Increasing Gender Awareness in Northern Kenya Through a Video Curriculum" Career Kiambuthi was formerly a lecturer in Theatre Arts and Film Technology at Kenyatta University in Kenya and a media consultant at Columbia University in New York. Stellah Wairimu Bosire, is a Kenyan physician, corporate executive, human rights activist and author, a former Co-Executive Director of UHAI EASHRI and also previously served as the chief executive officer of ''Kenya Medical Association'' and as the vice-chair of the HIV and AIDS Tribunal of Kenya. Background and education She was born and grew up in Kibera, the largest slum in Nairobi, Kenya's capital and largest city. Stellah was a student at Kibera Primary school but sat for Kenya's Certificate of Primary Education at Joseph Kang'ethe Primary School. She had a challenging childhood having spent a better part of her life as a homeless street child exposing her to various violations including sexual violence to which she is a survivor. Kikuyu People
The Kikuyu (also ''Agĩkũyũ/Gĩkũyũ'') are a Bantu ethnic group native to Central Kenya. At a population of 8,148,668 as of 2019, they account for 17.13% of the total population of Kenya, making them Kenya's largest ethnic group. The term ''Kikuyu'' is derived from the Swahili form of the word Gĩkũyũ. is derived from the word mũkũyũ which means sycamore fig (''mũkũyũ'') tree". Hence ''Agĩkũyũ'' in the Kikuyu language translates to "Children Of The Big Sycamore". The alternative name ''Nyũmba ya Mũmbi'', which encompasses ''Embu'', ''Gikuyu'', and ''Meru'', translates to "House of the Potter" (or "Creator").
