Wairarapa United is a Association football, football club based in Masterton, New Zealand and are currently competing in the Central Premier League, Central League. Club history The club was formed by the merger of Masterton (soccer), Masterton and Carterton in 1996. The club has competed in the Central Premier League, Central League since 2009. In Wairarapa's first season in the Central Premier League, Central League, the club finished sixth in the league. Wairarapa's highest finish in the league is third place which they placed in both 2010 and 2011. The club defeated four-time champions Napier Rovers 2–1 to win the Chatham Cup in 2011. This was Wairarapa's first time appearing in the final of the Chatham Cup. After the match, long serving coach Phil Keinzley stepped down from the role of coaching Wairarapa; only to latter continue the role. Memorial Park, Masterton
Memorial Park, also known as Trust House Memorial Park for sponsorship reasons and formerly as Cameron and Soldiers' Park, is a sports facility which is located in Masterton, Wellington region, New Zealand. The two main sports that are played on the ground are Rugby union, Rugby and Association football, Football. It has a capacity for 10,000 spectators. The Chatham Cup is New Zealand's premier knockout tournament in men's association football. It is held annually, with the final contested in September. The current champions of the Chatham Cup are 2022 winners Auckland City, who defeated Eastern Suburbs 1–0 in the final. Brian Kaltak (born 30 September 1993) is a Vanuatuan international footballer who plays for Australian club Central Coast Mariners as a central defender. Career Kaltak has played club football with Waterside Karori, Hekari United, Solomon Warriors, Amicale, Erakor Golden Star and Tasman United. Seule Soromon (born 14 August 1984) is an association football striker from Vanuatu who currently plays for Wairarapa United in the Central Premier League. Napier City Rovers is a football team based in Napier, New Zealand, competing in the Central Premier League. Club history The team was founded in 1973 via a merger of Napier Rovers and Napier City.
