Wahiduddin Mahmud
Wahiduddin Mahmud is an economist from Bangladesh. He is a member of the United Nations Committee for Development Policy. He was in charge of the Ministry of Finance and Planning in the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh in 1996. Early life Mahmud completed his matriculation from Annada Government High School, Brahmanbaria. Then he moved to Dhaka to study economics in Dhaka University. He obtained his PhD in economics from Cambridge University. He joined University of Dhaka as a professor of economics. Career Mahmud is a member of International Growth Centre based at London School of Economics. The University of Dhaka (also known as Dhaka University, or DU) is a public research university located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the oldest university in Bangladesh. The university opened its doors to students on July 1st 1921. Currently it is the largest public research university in Bangladesh, with a student body of 46,150 and a faculty of 1,992. Annada Government High School ( bn, অন্নদা সরকারি উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়) is a government secondary school for boys, in Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh. The school was named after Raja Roy Bahadur Annada Prashad Roy who was a landlord of Kolkata. The school operates under the Cumilla Education Board. International Growth Centre
The International Growth Centre (IGC) is an economic research centre based at the London School of Economics, operated in partnership with University of Oxford's Blavatnik School of Government. The centre was launched in December 2008 and is funded by the Department for International Development.
