Waheed Abdul-Ridha Waheed Karaawi (born May 22, 1983) is an Iraqi boxer. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's middleweight event, in which he was eliminated in the round of 32 by Misael Rodríguez Misael Uziel Rodríguez Olivas (born 7 April 1994) is a Mexican professional boxer. Amateur Boxing
Amateur boxing is a variant of boxing practiced at the collegiate level, at the Olympic Games, Pan American Games and Commonwealth Games, as well as many associations. Amateur boxing bouts are short in duration, comprising three rounds of three minutes in men, and four rounds of two minutes in women, each with a one-minute interval between rounds. Men's senior bouts changed in format from four two-minute rounds to three three-minute rounds on January 1, 2009. This type of competition prizes point-scoring blows, based on number of clean punches landed, rather than physical power. Also, this short format allows tournaments to feature several bouts over several days, unlike professional boxing, where fighters rest several months between bouts. During the Parade of Nations within the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympics opening ceremony, athletes and officials from each participating team marched in the Maracanã Stadium preceded by their flag and placard bearer. Each flag bearer had been chosen either by the team's National Olympic Committee or by the athletes themselves. Parade order Greece entered first, as the nation of the ancient and first modern Olympic Games. The host nation Brazil marched last. Other teams entered in alphabetical order in the language of the host country (Portuguese), according with tradition and IOC guidelines. Misael Uziel Rodríguez Olivas (born 7 April 1994) is a Mexican professional boxer. Career He won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Rodríguez competed in the World Series of Boxing between 2014 and 2016. He wasn't successful, losing 9 of 12 bouts and being TKO'd by Arlen López in a May 2016 fight.
