Wagga Wagga Leagues Club was a facility founded in 1955 by the Wagga Magpies Football Club in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia. History In 1955, Magpies Football Club purchased an block in Gurwood Street from the Wagga Wagga War Services Home Commission, who constructed a temporary clubhouse. A new Rugby Leagues Club, Eric Weissel Oval and Tennis courts was constructed in 1959 with a second storey constructed on the club building in 1964. Financial difficulty 2003 Wagga Wagga Leagues Club president, Brian Lawrence announced that the club was in $4 million in debt. Group 9 is a rugby league competition based in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia, and surrounding areas. The competition is played in five grades, with these being Under 17s, Under 19s, Women's League-Tag, Reserve-Grade and First-Grade. Currently a home and away season consisting of sixteen rounds is played. John Ribot () (born John Ribot de Bresac on 3 March 1955), also known by the nickname of "Reebs", is an Australian sports administrator, former rugby league footballer of the 1970s and 1980s. Once a Queensland State of Origin and Australian international representative, Ribot was the 1980 NSWRFL season's equal top try-scorer. Also a member of the 1982 " Invincibles" Kangaroo touring squad, he played club football in Brisbane for Fortitude Valley, Wests and Redcliffe, and in Sydney for Newtown, Wests and Manly-Warringah. Following his playing career, Ribot became the foundation CEO of the Brisbane Broncos and later Super League (Australia).
