Richard Wagener (born 1944) is an American wood engraver known for his prints and fine press books. His work has been collected by over one hundred and thirty public institutions. His first ''livre d'artiste, Zebra Noise with a Flatted Seventh'', was included in ''Artists' Books in the Modern Era, 1870–2000'' at the Legion of Honor, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Victoria Dailey has called Wagener the first California artist since Paul Landacre to achieve prominence in the art of wood engraving. Otto Wilhelm Heinrich Wagener (29 April 1888 – 9 August 1971) was a Nazi Germany, German major general and, for a period, Adolf Hitler's economic advisor and confidant. Life and career An industrialist's son, Wagener was born in Durlach, graduated from Gymnasium (school), ''Gymnasium'' and then became an German Army (German Empire), army officer. In 1916 during the First World War, Wagener was promoted to the General Staff. After the war, Wagener was involved in the planning of an attack against the city of Posen (now Poznań, in Poland), but had to flee to the Baltic countries to avoid arrest. There he merged all ''Freikorps'' associations into the German Legion, and assumed leadership after its leader, Paul Siewert, was murdered. After returning to Germany, he was active in ''Freikorps'' operations in Upper Silesia, Saxony, and the Ruhr area. Michael Wagener (born 25 April 1949) is a German former music producer, mixer, and engineer from Hamburg, best known for his work with many top glam metal and heavy metal bands in the late 1980s. He is particularly renowned for his multi-amping and re-amping techniques. Wagener's works have sold over 90 million albums worldwide. History and career Wagener was the original guitarist for the German band Accept. When he turned 18, he was drafted into the German army and was stationed 350 miles away from home. This made it difficult for him to practice with the rest of the band and hence he quit the band. After completing his military service, Wagener began working as an audio engineer in Hamburg in 1972. Through a friendship with singer Don Dokken, Wagener moved to Los Angeles. Johann Andreas Wagener was the forty-third mayor of Charleston, South Carolina, serving one term from 1871 to 1873. He also served as an officer in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Biography Wagener was born in Sievern / Bremerhaven on July 21, 1816, and baptized July 24 in Debstedt / Bremerhaven. He immigrated from Germany to New York in 1831 and worked as a store clerk. In 1833, he relocated to Charleston, South Carolina, where he began using the first name "John." He founded the first German-language newspaper of the South.
