Wadham School is a school for pupils aged 13–18 situated on a site on the outskirts of Crewkerne in Somerset, England. The school has been rated Good by Ofsted since May 2014. School site Wadham School opened in purpose built accommodation in 1971, as a Church of England, Voluntary Controlled, Upper Comprehensive, replacing the local grammar school Links with middle schools Wadham School receives pupils from two Middle Schools (ages 9–13), Maiden Beech in Crewkerne and Swanmead in Ilminster. Crewkerne
Crewkerne ( ) is a town and electoral ward in Somerset, England, southwest of Yeovil and east of Chard all in the South Somerset district. The civil parish of West Crewkerne includes the hamlets of Coombe, Woolminstone and Henley – and borders the county of Dorset to the south. The town is on the main headwater of the River Parrett, A30 road and West of England Main Line railway, in modern times the slower route between the capital and the southwest peninsula, having been eclipsed by the Taunton route. The earliest written record of Crewkerne is in the 899 will of Alfred the Great who left it to his youngest son Æthelweard. Somerset County Council is the county council of Somerset in the South West of England, an elected local government authority responsible for the most significant local government services in most of the county. Special measures is a status applied by regulators of public services in Britain to providers who fall short of acceptable standards. Gary Mortimer (born 1967 in Bristol, England) is a British journalist, balloonist, and drone aviator. He serves as editor of ''sUAS News,'' an unmanned aviation news website. He is a hot air balloon pilot and current holder of the South African Hot Air Balloon Altitude record. The record was set on 9 May 2005, when he flew to an altitude of with DJ Lev David, on a flight in the KwaZulu-Natal region of South Africa. The flight took off from Estcourt Airfield, and the landing took place just outside Weenan. He lives in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands and works on projects involving Unmanned Aircraft Systems ( UAS). In 2010 with Chris Anderson, Mortimer created the T3 competition on the popular drone building website DIY Drones. He remains the chief judge for the competition.
