Wade Verge
Wade Verge is a politician in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Verge represented the electoral district (Canada), district of Lewisporte (electoral district), Lewisporte in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly from 2007 until 2015. He was a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Newfoundland and Labrador, Progressive Conservative Party. Verge was formerly an educator and served as the principal at New World Island Academy of New World Island. In September 2009, Verge spoke out against his own government's cutbacks to health care in his district. Premier Danny Williams (Canadian politician), Danny Williams dismissed Verge's comments, saying that "he didn't understand that that's what it meant", and that, "for what it's worth, he's entitled to his opinion." New World Island
New World Island is an island in Notre Dame Bay, just off the coast of Newfoundland (island), Newfoundland in the Canada, Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The island is connected to Newfoundland by a causeway. The prominent communities on the island are Summerford, Newfoundland and Labrador, Summerford, Virgin Arm-Carter's Cove, Fairbanks-Hillgrade, Moreton's Harbour, Newville, Newfoundland and Labrador, Newville, Cobb's Arm, Newfoundland and Labrador, Cobb's Arm and Herring Neck. There are also several small fishing villages on the western end of the island, and some of its land is set aside as Dildo Run Provincial Park. The 2007 Newfoundland and Labrador general election was held on October 9, 2007 to elect members of the 46th General Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador. Campaign The election was called soon after Premier Danny Williams announced the popular Hebron Oil Field deal, and it was widely considered a foregone conclusion that Williams' Progressive Conservatives would be reelected. Daniel E. Williams (born August 4, 1949) is a Canadian politician, businessman, and lawyer who served as the ninth premier of Newfoundland and Labrador between November 6, 2003, and December 3, 2010. Williams was born and raised in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Before entering politics Williams was a highly successful lawyer and businessman. Alfred Ross Robert Martin Wiseman is a Canadian politician from Newfoundland and Labrador. Wiseman represented the district of Trinity North in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly from 2000 to 2015, as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party. Wiseman served in the provincial cabinet as Minister of Finance, President of the Treasury Board, Minister of Environment and Conservation, Minister of Business and Minister of Health and Community Services.
