Scranton Preparatory School
Scranton Preparatory School is a co-educational Jesuit high school located in Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States. History Scranton Prep opened its doors in 1944. At the request of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Scranton and of Catholic families in the area, the Jesuits who had recently assumed ownership of the University of Scranton began preparations to open a college preparatory school in the Scranton area. Led by the university's president, W. Coleman Nevils, the Jesuits renovated a building known as the “Annex” on the corner of Mulberry Street and Wyoming Avenue for the high school. The Annex, formerly the Dr. Charles E. Thomson Scranton Private Hospital, was acquired by William Hafey in 1941. WGGY
WGGY (101.3 FM, "Froggy 101") is a commercial radio station licensed to serve Scranton, Pennsylvania. The station is owned by Audacy, Inc. and broadcasts a country music format. WGGY uses HD Radio, and broadcasts an AAA format on its HD2 subchannel. Froggy 101 received national attention through NBC's series, ''The Office'', with a Froggy 101 bumper sticker displayed on a filing cabinet beside Dwight Schrute's desk. Simulcasts and repeaters WGGY's programming is simulcast on booster stations WGGY-FM1, WGGY-FM2 and WGGY-FM3. Until November 16, 2017, the programming was also simulcast on full-power WGGI (95.9 FM). WAAF (AM)
WAAF (910 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Scranton, Pennsylvania. Owned by Audacy, Inc., WAAF airs a talk radio format. It is powered at 900 watts by day and 440 watts at night, using a non-directional antenna at all times. The transmitter is at the corner of Penn Avenue and Spruce Street, on the Scranton Times Building. In addition to a standard analog transmission, WAAF's programming is available online via Audacy. WAAF is one of four simulcast radio stations in Northeastern Pennsylvania that call themselves ''WILK Newsradio'', along with 103.1 WILK-FM in Avoca, 1300 WODS in West Hazleton and 980 WILK in Wilkes-Barre. Waymart Wind Farm
Waymart Wind Farm is the second largest wind farm in Pennsylvania, United States. It consists of 43 GE 1.5 MW wind turbines, with a total net capacity of 64.5 MW, "which is enough renewable energy to power more than 21,000 Pennsylvania homes." The project is located in Wayne County, Pennsylvania. The wind farm was developed by Atlantic Renewable Energy and constructed by NextEra Energy Resources. Penobscot Knob
Penobscot Knob, also Penobscot Mountain, is a summit located in the western fringe of the Poconos nearest to Mountain Top, Pennsylvania which in the Solomon Gap pass below it lies an important multi-modal transportation corridor. At one time before incorporation, Mountain Top and the saddle of the pass was known by the Amerindian name Penobscot. Penobscot Mountain forms part of the drainage divide between the Lehigh Valley & greater Delaware River drainage basin and the Wyoming and Susquehanna Valley, part of the Potomac River drainage basin.
