WXBB (94.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station in Erie, Pennsylvania. It is branded as "''94.7 Bob FM''" and carries an adult hits format as of January 5, 2007. The station is owned by iHeartMedia. WXBB's studios are located in the Boston Store building in downtown Erie while its transmitter is located near Peach Street and Sesame Street south of I-90. History The "94.7 Bob FM" branding replaced WFGO "Froggy 94.7" on January 5, 2007. Froggy 94.7 was one of the Froggy stations that neither carried country music nor used fictitious frog-themed names for its disc jockeys. The present-day WXBB call sign was previously assigned to what is now WSAK/WSHK in Hampton New Hampshire. WXBB can also be heard in Ashtabula, Ohio, and surrounding areas. The Shark is an American FM radio classic hits- formatted duopoly serving the Seacoast Region of New Hampshire, York County, Maine, and northeast Massachusetts. Its two stations are WSAK (102.1 MHz; Hampton) and WSHK (105.3 MHz; Kittery, Maine), with broadcast studios located in Dover. The station's program format is almost exclusively classic hits. A few specialty programs are carried: The House of Blues Radio Hour with Dan "Elwood Blues" Aykroyd, and "The Reporter's File", a public affairs program, both on Sundays. The station was previously the only New Hampshire station to carry the syndicated Bob & Tom Show morning show. Boston Store (Erie, Pennsylvania)
The Boston Store is a former department store located on State Street in downtown Erie in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The store itself was founded in 1885, with the building being constructed in 1929. At its peak, two other Boston Stores were opened, in addition to the downtown store. The Boston Store was closed in 1979. The building remained abandoned until 1988, when it was renovated into a combination apartment and commercial building, and was renamed Boston Store Place. The Boston Store was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. Design The Boston Store is located between 7th and 8th Streets on State Street in downtown Erie. Froggy is a brand name radio format used for a variety of radio stations in the United States, most of which broadcast a country music format, with a few playing adult contemporary. (There was, however, an oldies-themed "Froggy" in Erie, Pennsylvania: the former WFGO; that station has since changed format and calls in 2007. WEBG (95.9 FM, "''Fox Sports 1330''") is a radio station licensed to Mina, New York owned by iHeartMedia. Its transmitter is located near Northeast Sherman Rd and Miller Rd in Chautauqua County New York. The station broadcasts a sports format as a simulcast of WFNN (1330 AM) from Erie, Pennsylvania.
