On May 7, 2015, Horizon Christian Fellowship of Indianapolis filed an application to sell WWDL (and three CPs for translators) to The Power Foundation. The assignee assumed the operations of the station on June 1, 2015. The sale was approved by the FCC on August 3, 2015, and consummated on October 1, 2015, at a purchase price of $140,000. Kay Arthur
Kay Lee Arthur (born November 11, 1933) is Christian author and bible teacher and co-founder of Precept Ministries International. Early life and education Kay Lee Arthur was born on November 11, 1933, in Jackson, Michigan. She grew up in a religious household, which moved frequently. She graduated from nursing school in 1955 at age 21, and married her first husband, Frank Thomas Goetz, Jr. They got a divorce in 1961. Previously disconnected from her religion, Arthur became newly committed to Christianity in 1963. Afterwards, she continued nursing and moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee to attend Tennessee Temple University, where she earned a diploma. There, she met Jack Arthur (born March 14, 1926), who had graduated from Tennessee Temple University with a Graduate in Theology in 1956. Woodrow Kroll
Woodrow Michael Kroll (born October 21, 1944) is an evangelical preacher and radio host. He was the president and Bible teacher for the international '' Back to the Bible'' radio and television ministry. He was president of Davis College (formerly Practical Bible College) in Johnson City, New York, United States. In addition to preaching and teaching, Kroll is a prolific writer, having authored more than 50 books expounding on the Bible and Christian living. Background and education Kroll was born to Frank and Betty Kroll in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. His father, Reverend Frank Kroll, attended Practical Bible Training School (as it was then called) from 1936 to 1939 and pastored the Park Gate Baptist Church in Ellwood City for years. Back to the Bible is an international Christian ministry based in Lincoln, Nebraska, United States. History Founded in 1939 by Theodore H. Epp on radio station KFOR (AM) in Lincoln, Nebraska, Back to the Bible expanded by supporting missionaries and broadcasting via shortwave radio to other countries. By the mid-1950s, it was being broadcast somewhere in the world in any given minute, and in 1954 the organization's first international Bible teaching ministry office opened in Canada. By the time of Epp's retirement in 1981, the ''Back to the Bible'' program was syndicated as a daily 30-minute broadcast on more than 800 radio stations worldwide. Southern Gospel
Southern gospel music is a genre of Christian music. Its name comes from its origins in the southeastern United States. Its lyrics are written to express either personal or a communal faith regarding biblical teachings and Christian life, as well as (in terms of the varying music styles) to give a Christian alternative to mainstream secular music. Plainfield, Indiana
Plainfield is a town in Guilford, Liberty, and Washington townships, Hendricks County, Indiana, United States. The population was 27,631 at the 2010 census, and in 2019 the estimated population was 35,287. History In 1822 a tract of land which included the area now known as Plainfield was obtained by Jeremiah Hadley of Preble County, Ohio. Ten years later he sold it to his son, Elias Hadley. Levi Jessup and Elias Hadley laid out the town in 1839. Plainfield was incorporated as a town in 1839. The town got its name from the early Friends (Quakers) who settled around the area and established several meetinghouses throughout the county, including the important Western Yearly Meeting of Friends in Plainfield. The Friends were "plain" people, and thus the name "Plainfield". The high school continues to honor the Quakers, using the name for the school's mascot.
