WTZQ
WTZQ (1600 AM) is a radio station broadcasting an oldies/ adult standards format. Licensed to Hendersonville, North Carolina, United States, the station is currently owned by Paige Posey and Mark Warwick, through licensee Flat Rock Multimedia, LLC, and features local programming and music 24 hours a day. History WHVL signed on in 1963. From 1977 to 1987 the station broadcast a Top 40 format. In 1987, WHVL changed call letters to WTZQ and began playing " Solid Gold". In summer 1988, the format changed to "Simply Beautiful". In 1990, Mystle and Jim Butler, who had owned the station since 1986, sold WTZQ to United Broadcasting Enterprises, Inc. Glenn W. Wilcox, Sr. sold WTZQ to J. Ardell Sink in 1997. Houston Broadcasting Corp. bought WTZQ in 2002. Timeless (radio Network)
Timeless was a 24-hour satellite music service of Citadel Media (through Citadel Broadcasting). It has distributed a mix of soft oldies and adult standards to radio stations around the United States. It was a combination of two former formats: gold-based adult contemporary Unforgettable Favorites (also known as "Memories") and adult standards Timeless Classics/Timeless Favorites (originally known as "Stardust"). Since 2007, it was simply known as "Timeless", still using the "Timeless Favorites" branding sparingly. WKYK (940 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a classic country music format. Licensed to Burnsville, North Carolina, United States. The station is currently owned by Mark Media. History J. Ardell Sink signed on WKYK in May 1967. In 1971 Burnsville Broadcasting, Inc. became Mark Media, Inc. after several purchases. While the company has had stations in Charlotte and Asheville in North Carolina and Greenville and Charleston in South Carolina, the company remained in Burnsville. WISE (1310 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a sports format. Licensed to Asheville, North Carolina, United States, it serves the Asheville area. The station is currently owned by the Asheville Radio Group of Saga Communications. Hendersonville, North Carolina
Hendersonville is a city in Henderson County, North Carolina, United States. It is south of Asheville and is the county seat of Henderson County. Like the county, the city is named for 19th-century North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Leonard Henderson. The population was 13,137 at the 2010 census and was estimated in 2019 to be 14,157.
