WOZN (1670 AM) is a sports radio station licensed to and serving Madison, Wisconsin. Owned and operated by Mid-West Family Broadcasting, WOZN is also simulcast on low-powered translator W244DR (96.7 MHz). WOZN originates from its Madison studios at 730 Ray-O-Vac Dr. on the far west side. Its single transmitter tower is located on Syene Rd. in the nearby Town of Madison, sharing a site with WLMV. The station's 1670 AM signal transmits on a non-directional antenna with daytime transmitting power of 10,000 watts reduced to 1,000 watts at sunset. WTDY-FM (96.5 MHz) is a commercial radio station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The station is owned by Audacy, Inc. and broadcasts a Top 40/CHR format. WTDY's studios are co-located with located within Audacy's corporate headquarters in Center City, Philadelphia, while its transmitter is located off Domino Lane in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, a site where other local FM and TV towers are located. History Early years Independence Broadcasting Company, the owners of WHAT (1340 AM), applied to the Federal Communications Commission for a construction permit for a new FM station on 103.5 MHz on October 5, 1945. The FCC granted the permit on July 10, 1947, while reassigning the station to 105.3 MHz. The FCC granted permission on December 2, 1948 for the station to begin broadcasting, by which time it had been assigned the WHAT-FM call sign. WRIS-FM
WRIS-FM (106.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to Mount Horeb, Wisconsin and serving the Madison market. The station is owned by Mid-West Family Broadcasting and airs an alternative rock format as "The Resistance 106.7." WRIS-FM broadcasts from a tower near Barneveld, Wisconsin, about 25 miles west of Madison. History WRIS-FM's history dates back to October 2005, when Mid-West Family Broadcasting began testing the 106.7 FM signal under the call sign WYZM, airing smooth jazz music normally heard on sister station WMGN during its "Magic Sunday Morning" program. The smooth jazz was there only temporarily, for on December 1, 2005, WYZM changed to WSLK and began simulcasting the classic hits format of sister station WHLK ("The Lake at 93-1 and 106-7").
