WTAM-LD
WTAM-LD, virtual channel 30 ( UHF digital channel 35), is a low-powered Estrella TV owned-and-operated television station licensed to Tampa, Florida, United States and also serving St. Petersburg. The station is owned by HC2 Holdings. The station's transmitter is located in Riverview. History The station signed on in August 2005 as ''TV Informa 30'', affiliated with the Mexican Multimedios network, but closed down in February 2006, after failing to find any cable system that would offer the channel in their line-up. Being a low-powered station with no connections with any local full-powered outlets, WTAM was exempt from the Federal Must-carry rules that full-powered stations enjoyed, meaning that cable and satellite companies weren't obligated to offer the channel. Apparently not having the funds or the patience, Lotus opted to shut down WTAM, instead of keeping the station on the air as a terrestrial-only offering. Mega TV is an American free-to-air television network based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, owned by Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS). The network's flagship is WSBS-TV, a television station licensed to Key West, Florida, with studios also in Miami. History Mega TV was launched on March 1, 2006. Its original slate of programming includes productions aimed to young Hispanic viewers. Mega TV seems to be following the same pattern traced by larger rivals such as the Hispanic Telemundo, Univision and Azteca nearly 25 years ago – creating its own television personalities. In early 2007, the station cut 55 employees to save production costs. On weekdays, the network produces around twenty hours of live daily programming, with lesser amounts during the weekends and holidays. The station has been on the air intermittently since January 24, 1990. The station was previously owned by Una Vez Mas Holdings. It was later owned by Northstar Media, which was purchased by HC2 Holdings in 2017. It is licensed to HC2 Station Group LLC. Ultra High Frequency
Ultra high frequency (UHF) is the ITU designation for radio frequency, radio frequencies in the range between 300 megahertz (MHz) and 3 gigahertz (GHz), also known as the decimetre band as the wavelengths range from one meter to one tenth of a meter (one decimeter). Brandon is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States.
