WSAT (1280 AM) is a radio station broadcasting an oldies format. Licensed to Salisbury, North Carolina, United States. The station is currently owned by William Marc Graham, through licensee 2B Productions, LLC Sports coverage on the station includes Catawba College football and men's and women's basketball, area high school sports, the Carolina Panthers of the NFL, and American Legion baseball. History WSAT was Salisbury's second radio station, signing on April 25, 1948, on 1280 kHz with 1 KW power (daytime). It was owned by Mid-Carolina Broadcasting Company. Harry Welch, Sr. took over as general manager in 1953, and for nearly 50 years WSAT was run by someone from the Welch family. It was once known as "The Family Station". Past personalities include Grady Cole, Russ McIntyre, and Bob Mason. Mike Moore, at age 13 in July 1960, began his radio career hosting a "top tunes" show. WSTP
WSTP (1490 AM) is a radio station licensed to and serving the area of Salisbury, North Carolina, United States. History WSTP signed on New Year's Eve 1939 from the Yadkin Hotel ballroom. Its letters stood for "Salisbury Times and Post", the town's morning and afternoon newspapers. The Hurley Family who owned the Post were also part owners of WSTP. The station aired the Rose Bowl in 1940. Salisbury eventually became the state's smallest town with two radio stations and a daily newspaper. Mae, Nancy and Nell Kendrick were called "The Three Little Sisters" and "The Singing Sisters" in the 1940s, when they worked for WSTP at a time when it was above the Meroney Theatre. On November 22, 1963 and for several days after that, WSTP switched to all classical music, commercial-free, with breaks for news. Salisbury is a city in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, United States; it has been the county seat of Rowan County since 1753 when its territory extended to the Mississippi River. WFNZ (610 AM broadcasting, AM), known on air as "102.5 The Block", is a commercial radio station in Charlotte, North Carolina. Owned by Urban One, the station airs an urban contemporary radio format. WFNZ previously offered local sports hosts weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. On nights and weekends, it carried programming from CBS Sports Radio. WFNZ served as the flagship (broadcasting), flagship station for the NBA'S Charlotte Hornets and Major League Soccer's Charlotte FC. The studios and offices are located at 1 Julian Price Place, while its transmitter is located at the site of its former studios on Radio Road in the Oakdale neighborhood of Northwest Charlotte. ''The Huckabee Report'' was a radio program hosted by former Republican governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee, that aired from January 2009 to May 1, 2015. The program was broadcast on Cumulus Media Networks (formerly Citadel Media and ABC Radio Networks), three times each day (Monday–Friday), and each commentary was approximately 4 minutes long. WBT (1110 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station serving the Charlotte metropolitan area, including parts of North Carolina and South Carolina. First licensed on March 18, 1922, it is one of America's first radio stations. The station airs a news/talk radio format simulcast on WBT-FM (99.3) and the HD2 digital subchannel of co-owned WLNK. WBT is owned by Urban One. Studios and offices are located off West Morehead Street, just west of Uptown Charlotte, co-located with the city's CBS television affiliate, WBTV, currently owned by Gray Television but at one time co-owned with WBT Radio. America's Best Music is the on-air branding of a soft oldies and adult standards 24-hour radio network, formerly known as AM Only. The service is syndicated by Westwood One, a subsidiary of Cumulus Media. It was one of the original Transtar Radio Networks formats. Cumulus Media Networks was an American radio network owned and operated by Cumulus Media. From 2011 until its merger with Westwood One, it controlled many of the radio assets formerly belonging to the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), which was broken up in 2007; Cumulus owned the portion of the network that was purchased by Citadel Broadcasting that year.
