Parkersburg is a city in and the county seat of Wood County, West Virginia, Wood County, West Virginia. Marietta is a city in, and the county seat of, Washington County, Ohio, United States. It is located in southeastern Ohio at the confluence of the Muskingum and Ohio Rivers, northeast of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
