WRU Division Three West A
The Welsh Rugby Union Division Three West A is a rugby union league in Wales. The founding of the Division in 2014 was a result of the decision by the Welsh Rugby Union to localise club rugby, after they concluded that players were not willing to travel long distances to play their matches. Competition format Competition There are 10 clubs in the WRU Division Three West A. During the course of a season (which lasts from September to May) each club plays every other team twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents for a total of 18 games for each club, with a total of 180 games in each season. Teams receive four points for a win and two points for a draw, an additional bonus point is awarded to either team if they score four tries or more in a single match. No points are awarded for a loss though the losing team can gain a bonus point for finishing the match within seven points of the winning team. SWALEC was an electricity supply and distribution company in South Wales, established in 1989 following the de-regulation of the electricity supply industry in the United Kingdom. The business has seen several changes of ownership from 1996, and the SWALEC brand has been used for retail gas supply as well as electricity. Neyland RFC
Neyland is a town and community in Pembrokeshire, Wales, lying on the River Cleddau and the upstream end of the Milford Haven estuary. The Cleddau Bridge carrying the A477 links Pembroke Dock with Neyland. Etymology The name of the town is a reduction of an earlier form of the English word ' preceded by the Middle English ' "at the". It was formerly known as New Milford by contrast with Milford Haven. History Neyland was a small fishing village in the parish of Llanstadwell, but in 1856 it became the site for the western terminus of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's Great Western Railway with a transatlantic terminal for the largest ships of the time. It was selected instead of the other possible location Abermawr. The town then grew rapidly to serve the port. The construction of a more substantial port at Goodwick based on an earlier plan of 1846, was revived in 1899, and opened in 1906. Pembroke Dock Harlequins Rugby Football Club is a Welsh rugby union team based in Pembroke Dock. The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) and is a feeder club for the Llanelli Scarlets. They are known locally as simply the 'Quins'. The team was founded in 1880, a year before the creation of the WRU and the formation of the Wales national team. The club joined the Welsh Rugby Union in 1896, making the club one of the earliest teams from the region to gain membership. The clubs records from 1923 to 1999 are presently held by the historical society, Archive Wales. Homeground Pembroke Dock play all their home games at the Bierspool Ground located on London Road where they have been located since 1956. Laugharne ( cy, Talacharn) is a town on the south coast of Carmarthenshire, Wales, lying on the estuary of the River Tâf. The ancient borough of Laugharne Township ( cy, Treflan Lacharn) with its Corporation and Charter is a unique survival in Wales. In a predominantly English-speaking area, just on the Landsker Line, the community is bordered by those of Llanddowror, St Clears, Llangynog and Llansteffan. It had a population at the 2011 census of 1,222. Laugharne Township electoral ward also includes the communities of Eglwyscummin, Pendine and Llanddowror. Dylan Thomas, who lived in Laugharne from 1949 until his death in 1953, famously described it as a "timeless, mild, beguiling island of a town". It is generally accepted as the inspiration for the fictional town of Llareggub in '' Under Milk Wood''.
