WRSA-FM (96.9 FM, "Mix 96.9") is an adult contemporary-formatted radio station serving the Huntsville, Alabama, area. The broadcast transmitter and tower for WRSA-FM is located on Brindlee Mountain, and the station's studios are located at 8402 Memorial Parkway SW (US 231) in Huntsville, a former bank. History Before a gradual format change in the late 1990s away from its longtime "Beautiful 97" image, WRSA-FM was one of the last remaining easy listening-formatted radio stations in the United States. Founded and constructed in 1964 and early 1965 by Redstone Arsenal engineer Paul R. Brindlee Mountain
Brindlee Mountain (or "Brindley Mountain") is an isolated portion of the Appalachian Plateau in northern Alabama. It occupies significant portions of Cullman, Morgan, and Marshall Counties and extends into Winston and Lawrence counties. The plateau is formed by a sandstone cap-rock overlying limestone. The main mountain sits south of Lacey's Spring and houses communities such as Union Hill and Morgan City as well as parts of Union Grove and spans into Arab also. Holly Pond, Alabama
Holly Pond is a town in Cullman County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 census the town's population was 798. The town was incorporated in 1906. History Holly Pond was first settled in the 1840s, and gets its name from two natural ponds that were surrounded by holly trees. ''The Huntsville Times'' is a thrice-weekly newspaper published in Huntsville, Alabama, and printed in Birmingham, Alabama. It also serves the surrounding areas of north Alabama's Tennessee Valley region.
