WRDI
WRDI (95.7 FM, "Redeemer Radio") is a radio station broadcasting a Catholic talk format. Licensed to Nappanee, Indiana, WRDI serves the South Bend, Indiana market. History 95.7 signed on as WLRX on December 16, 1991 (the calls for the construction permit granted in 1990 had been WXJG, but the station was never on the air with those calls). WLRX broadcast ABC Radio/ SMN's StarStation adult contemporary format serving the Nappanee area under the name "Star 96," then segued to a Hot AC direction with local DJs as "Magic 95.7" and broadened its focus to include South Bend and Elkhart. It was during this time the station also changed hands from Indiana Star Broadcasting to Service Communications of South Bend. Service was purchased by Talking Stick which is now a part of the Federated Communications of Elkhart umbrella. Regional Radio Sports Network
The Regional Radio Sports Network is a radio network that broadcasts high school and college sports in northern Indiana. History Regional Radio Sports first broadcast in 1992 on WWJY (now WXRD) in Crown Point, Indiana. In order to establish a footprint in the Michiana region, RRS soon joined forces with WAMJ in South Bend to create the first network. WAMJ was the first home for RRSN's coverage of Penn High School football, which now airs on affiliate WGCS. The network later added coverage of Bethel College basketball, baseball and softball to fill out the winter and spring. Since 2012, RRSN has partnered with the Indiana High School Athletic Association and Emmis Communications to produce the Indiana High School Sports Report that airs weekly around the state. It was a part of ESPN Radio from 1 pm to 4pm, with all three hours also simulcasted on ESPNews. On April 26, 2017 Danny Kanell was let go by ESPN after a number of personnel were laid off, leaving only Russillo to host the show. December 22, 2017, was the last day of ''The Ryen Russillo Show'' due to a contract dispute, although Russillo's contract runs until August 2018. The ''South Bend Tribune'' is a daily newspaper and news website which is based in South Bend, Indiana. It is distributed in South Bend, Mishawaka, north central Indiana, and southwestern Michigan. It has been named as a "Blue Ribbon Newspaper" (2006, 2016 and 2018) by the Hoosier State Press Association. It is the third largest daily broadsheet newspaper in the state of Indiana by circulation. WSBT (960 kHz, "Sports Radio 960") is a commercial radio station in South Bend, Indiana, which airs a sports radio format. It is owned by Mid-West Family Broadcasting, with studios and offices on East Monroe Street in downtown South Bend. WSBT broadcasts at 5,000 watts, using different day and night directional antenna patterns to protect other stations on AM 960. The transmitter site is located in the southern portion of South Bend, off Ironwood Road. With a good radio, WSBT's signal can be picked up from Lake Michigan to Fort Wayne.
