WOSN (97.1 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station owned by Treasure & Space Coast Radio. It broadcasts a soft adult contemporary radio format, switching to Christmas music for part of November and December. Licensed to Indian River Shores, Florida, the station serves the Treasure Coast including Vero Beach and Fort Pierce. The station license is held by Vero Beach Broadcasters. The studios and offices are on 16th Street in Vero Beach. The transmitter is off 77th Street, also in Vero Beach. It has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 23,000 watts. History In 1996, the station signed on the air as WAAE. It was owned by Centennial Broadcasting of Florida with studios on 43rd Street in Vero Beach. America's Best Music is the on-air branding of a soft oldies and adult standards 24-hour radio network, formerly known as AM Only. The service is syndicated by Westwood One, a subsidiary of Cumulus Media. It was one of the original Transtar Radio Networks formats. Despite its old name of AM Only, "America's Best Music" is no longer exclusive to AM stations and is carried on some FM stations. Westwood One is an American radio network owned by Cumulus Media. The company syndicates talk, music, and sports programming. The company takes its name from an earlier network also named Westwood One, a company founded in 1978. The company was, at various times, managed by CBS Radio, the radio arm of CBS Corporation and Viacom. It was later purchased by the private equity firm The Gores Group before merging with Dial Global in 2011. In December 2013, Dial Global was, in turn, acquired by Cumulus Media.
