WNAV
WNAV (1430 AM) is a radio station located in Annapolis, Maryland. It first went on the air on April 22, 1949, from studios at 89 West Street in Annapolis. Its first president and general manager was Albert H. MacCarthy. The full-service outlet still broadcasts at 1430 kilohertz, its original location on the AM dial. Owner Pat Sajak, the host of ''Wheel of Fortune,'' reached a deal to sell the station to local investors in October 2021. In December, the new management informed on-air staff that they would be let go at the end of the month. WNAV also uses an FM translator, W260BM, that broadcasts at 99.9 MHz. While primarily a locally originated station, syndicated programming heard on WNAV includes '' First Light''. Baltimore Orioles Radio Network
The Baltimore Orioles Radio Network comprises 39 stations in five states and the District of Columbia. Beginning in 2022, the Orioles' flagship station is once again WBAL/1090 AM and is joined by sister station WIYY/97.9 FM; a game conflict with the Baltimore Ravens sees one station carrying the Orioles, and the other the Ravens. The contract is for six years. Jim Hunter calls play by play for the majority of games, with ESPN broadcaster Kevin Brown stepping in for approximately 50 games. Hunter took the primary role calling Orioles radio broadcasts following the retirement of Joe Angel, "The Voice of the Orioles" in 2004. Pat Sajak ( , born Patrick Leonard ; born October 26, 1946) is an American television personality and game show host. He is best known as the host of the American television game show ''Wheel of Fortune'', a position he has held since 1981. For his work on ''Wheel'', Sajak has received 19 nominations for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host, winning three times. Early life Born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 26, 1946, Sajak graduated from Farragut High School in 1964, then went to Columbia College Chicago while working as a desk clerk at the Palmer House hotel. ''First Light'' is a news program airing on numerous talk radio stations, syndicated by Westwood One, a subsidiary of Cumulus Media. The one-hour live program airs weekdays at 5:00 a.m. Eastern Time and is hosted by Michael Toscano. The show features reports from ABC News Radio, as well as guest interviews, a call-in segment and the short-form feature ''Last Night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon''. A weekend version, ''The Week in Review'', for airing on Saturday mornings, is also available to affiliates. Dirk Van was the show's longtime host from 1989 to 2015, with Evan Haning taking the hosting chores upon Van's retirement.
