WMTR (AM)
WMTR (1250 kHz) is an American AM radio station owned by Beasley Broadcast Group. It is licensed to Morristown, New Jersey and serves Morris County and surrounding areas. History WMTR has a long history. On December 12, 1948, WMTR signed on, owned by the Croy family and known as the Morristown Broadcasting Company with studios at 10 Park Place. The station had a general entertainment format running various radio shows along with playing soft popular music of the day. The station was an AM daytimer only allowed on the air from dawn to dusk. By the late 1950s, the station played music and had a lot of news and information full-time. The Croys though hated rock and roll music so WMTR only played easy listening and some big bands. In the 1960s, WMTR continued on as a Middle-of-the-Road Music station playing no baby boomer popular music. Bernie Wagenblast (born September 1, 1956) is an American transportation journalist, radio personality and voice-over artist. She is the founder and editor of the Transportation Communications Newsletter. The newsletter originated as a discussion group in June 1998, evolving into its current format shortly thereafter. She also edits The AASHTO Daily Transportation Update, published by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, and hosts AASHTO's ETAP Podcast and the ITE Talks Transportation podcast for the Institute of Transportation Engineers. Early life Wagenblast has been a lifelong resident of Cranford, New Jersey and attended Cranford High School. Good Time Oldies
Good Time Oldies is a 24-hour music format offered to local radio stations across the country that was originally produced by Jones Radio Networks. After the sales of Jones Radio Networks to Dial Global in 2008, the format was absorbed into D.G.`s "Kool Oldies" format. However, due to radio stations demand, the Good Time Oldies format was brought to Dial Global. The format was programmed by program director Jon Holiday from 1994 through 2003. Good Time Oldies targets a key demographic of white men age 50 to 64. The majority of the network's playlist is from the 1960s and 70s with scattered tunes from the 50s and 80s. Jones Radio Networks was purchased by Triton Media Group, and "Good Time Oldies" was merged to Dial Global's " Kool Gold" network and then quickly brought back as Good Time Oldies due to affiliate demand. Jack FM is a radio network brand that is licensed by Sparknet Communications, with the exception of the European Union where it is licensed by Oxis Media.
