The WMF World Cup is an international indoor soccer competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of World Minifootball Federation (WMF). History The first Indoor Soccer World Championship was organized in 1997 in Mexico City, under the auspices of the Federacion Internacional de Futbol Rapido (FIFRA). Twelve national teams participated in that tournament, with Mexico winning the final against the United States. In February 2012, the Federación Internacional de Fútbol Rápido hosted the first-ever FIFRA Club Championship in Monterrey, Mexico. The 4-team tournament was won by the San Diego Sockers, who defeated the Monterrey Flash 5–3 in the final. 2015 WMF World Cup
The 2015 World Minifootball Federation World Cup is the first edition of the WMF World Cup held by the World Minifootball Federation. The tournament was contested in nine cities across the United States from 21–29 March 2015. The 2019 World Minifootball Federation World Cup was the third edition of the WMF World Cup, the world championship for men's national minifootball teams organized by the World Minifootball Federation. San Diego Sockers are an American professional indoor soccer franchise playing in the Western Division of the Major Arena Soccer League, representing the San Diego area since 2009. The Sockers first played home games at Chevrolet Del Mar Arena at the Del Mar Fairgrounds adjacent to the Del Mar Racetrack in Del Mar, California.
