''The Rick and Bubba Show'' is an American comedy radio show based in Birmingham, Alabama. Nationally syndicated and produced at WZZK-FM, the show is live every weekday for five hours and is hosted by Rick Burgess and Bill "Bubba" Bussey. The Rick and Bubba Radio Show The radio program began on January 8, 1994. On February 11, 2008, the broadcast location of the show moved to the "Rick and Bubba Broadcast Plaza and Teleport" in Vestavia Hills, which houses the studio as well as management offices for the show. This location allows fans to witness the show from the sidewalk inside Vestavia Hills City Center, as well as from the "Golden Ticket" seats inside the studio. In March 2009, The Rick and Bubba Show was heard on XM Radio Channel 158, but is no longer available satellite radio. A televised version of the show premiered November 1, 2012 on Heartland. WEPA (AM)
WEPA was a radio station on 710 AM in Eupora, Mississippi, operating between 1974 and 1998. History WEPA signed on the air May 3, 1974, owned by Tri County Broadcasting Company, a subsidiary of Sisk Broadcasting. The first announcer on WEPA was Mackey Dozier. An FM station, WEXA 101.7 (now WLZA), was added on September 1, 1978, with the two stations sharing about 20 percent of their programming. WEPA primarily carried a country music format as "King Country" for most of its history, with gospel music on Sundays. Harry and Carolyn Jackson were the longtime station and program managers, respectively; they hosted a tradio program known as The Party Line Program six days a week. Classic hits is a radio format which generally includes songs from the top 40 music charts from the late 1960s to the early 2000s, with music from the 1980s serving as the core of the format. Music that was popularized by MTV in the early 1980s and the nostalgia behind it is a major driver to the format. Eupora, Mississippi
Eupora is the largest city in Webster County, central Mississippi. The population was 2,197 at the 2010 census. History Eupora was established in 1889 by European Americans on a spur track of the Georgia Pacific Railway. While there had been agricultural development prior to this in the county, the railroad stimulated trade and businesses. Today this is the largest city in the county. Near here was a site in 1770 of armed conflict among some Native American tribes. The Chakchiuma were destroyed by the allied Choctaw and Chickasaw, who were traditional enemies in the region.
