The station broadcast with powers of 10 kilowatts daytime and 1 kilowatt at night, and was licensed to Denham Springs, where the transmitter was also located. History AM 1210 was a Christian talk radio station, WBIU, until 1997 when it was acquired by Clear Channel (forerunner to iHeartMedia) and switched to a sports talk format, under the call letters WSKR. It was an ESPN Radio affiliate until February 2007, when it switched to Fox Sports Radio. 24/7 Comedy was a 24-hour live, commercial-free radio format produced by iHeartMedia's Premiere Networks in the United States and by Bell Media in Canada.It showcased the stand-up comedy routines of established and emerging comedians in a rapid-fire presentation style and was programmed by an array of comedians and comedy experts. Denham Springs is a city in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. The 2010 U.S. census placed the population at 10,215, up from 8,757 at the 2000 U. S. census. At the 2020 United States census, 9,286 people lived in the city. The city is the largest area of commercial and residential development in Livingston Parish. Usually unlike dead air (broadcasting only silence), a station that is dark or silent does not even transmit a carrier signal. 2016 Louisiana Floods
In August 2016, prolonged rainfall from an unpredictable storm resulted in catastrophic flooding in the state of Louisiana, United States; thousands of houses and businesses were submerged. Louisiana's governor, John Bel Edwards, called the disaster a "historic, unprecedented flooding event" and declared a state of emergency. Many rivers and waterways, particularly the Amite and Comite rivers, reached record levels, and rainfall exceeded in multiple parishes. Because numerous homeowners who were affected were without flood insurance, the federal government provided disaster aid through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
