WJXF-LP
WJXF-LP, UHF analog channel 49, was a low-powered television station licensed to Jackson, Mississippi, United States. The station was owned by Equity Broadcasting. History WJXF began carrying LAT TV programming beginning May 30, 2007, as part of a new deal between LAT TV and Equity. It was originally announced that LAT TV would replace Univision on sister station WJMF-LP. However, WJMF kept the Univision affiliation while WJXF began broadcasting LAT TV programming. Until that date, WJXF was a repeater of non-Equity WBXK-CA. In December 2007, WJXF switched from LAT TV to Retro Jams, an Equity service that presents music videos, plus infomercials overnight. WJMF-LD, virtual and VHF digital channel 6, is a low-power television station licensed to Jackson, Mississippi, United States. The station is owned by Rainey Radio. WJMF-LD's transmitter is located on Kerr Drive (off US 80) on Jackson's south side. Programming is currently unknown. History WJMF-LP was previously an affiliate of Univision, rebroadcasting a satellite feed of KUOK in Oklahoma City, a former sister station under Equity Media Holdings; consequently, WJMF-LP was Univision's sole affiliate in Mississippi, as well as the state's only Spanish-language TV station in general. Urban America Television
Urban America Television (UATV) was an over-the-air television broadcast network in the United States targeted towards Black Americans. According to the company's website, the network had 70 affiliate stations. UATV claimed to have had a reach of 22 million households in the United States. It was a successor to the earlier American Independent Television network and began broadcasting December 3, 2001. Created and developed by Fred Hutton (among others) the early programming featured independent produced programs, along with 1930s and 1940s public domain race films. LAT TV
LAT TV was a Spanish-language television network emphasizing family-oriented and educational programming. It was owned by Latin America Broadcasting of Houston, Texas and launched in May 2006, initially on five low-power television stations in Texas and Arizona, four of which were in top-ten Hispanic markets. The network folded in May 2008. History LAT TV launched on May 19, 2006 with television stations in Houston, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio, Texas, and in Phoenix, Arizona.
