WJKV
WJKV (90.9 MHz) is a non-profit FM radio station in Jacksonville, Florida. It is owned by the Educational Media Foundation (EMF) and airs the national " K-Love" Christian contemporary music radio format. WJKV broadcasts from a tower off Hogan Road in Jacksonville. In addition, programming on the station is also heard on two translator stations: W208AV 89.5 MHz, San Jose (a neighborhood in Jacksonville), and W281AM 104.1 MHz, Macclenny. WJKV has been observed with HD1, HD2 ("Air 1") and HD3 services in December 2018. History On February 8, 1973, the station signed on as WFAM, at 91.1 MHz. It was owned by Jones College. WEJZ
WEJZ (96.1 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Jacksonville, Florida. It is owned by Renda Broadcasting and airs a mainstream adult contemporary radio format. WEJZ is the Jacksonville affiliate for the syndicated Delilah and John Tesh. Between mid-November and December 26 each year, the station switches to all-Christmas music. WEJZ's studios and offices are located on Atlantic Boulevard in the Arlington district of Jacksonville, and the transmitter is downtown, on a tower used by other radio and TV stations. Jones College was a private college in Jacksonville, Florida. Founded in 1918, the college was non-profit and had an undergraduate body of roughly 350 students. It offered courses in business, education, management, medical assistant training, computer science and general studies. The school was not regionally accredited, although it was nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). On December 12, 2016, John King Jr., the United States Secretary of Education, finalized the process of revoking the U.S. Department of Education's recognition of ACICS as an accreditor. WKTZ (1220 AM) is an American radio station licensed to serve Jacksonville, Florida, United States. Established in 1958, the station is currently owned and operated by the American Family Association, and is that organization's only station on the AM band. The station was assigned the call sign "WJAX" by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on May 26, 1987 and then assigned the callsign WKTZ on November 5, 2014. In broadcasting and radio communications, a call sign (also known as a call name or call letters—and historically as a call signal—or abbreviated as a call) is a unique identifier for a transmitter station. A call sign can be formally assigned by a government agency, informally adopted by individuals or organizations, or even cryptographically encoded to disguise a station's identity. The use of call signs as unique identifiers dates to the landline railroad telegraph system. Because there was only one telegraph line linking all railroad stations, there needed to be a way to address each one when sending a telegram. In the music industry, the Top 40 is the current, 40 most-popular songs in a particular genre. It is the best-selling or most frequently broadcast popular music. Record charts have traditionally consisted of a total of 40 songs. "Top 40" or " contemporary hit radio" is also a radio format.
