WJFF has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 3,200 watts. The transmitter is approximately two miles west of Liberty (village), New York, Liberty, New York, off Old Loomis Road. Programming is also heard on FM translator W233AH at 94.5 MHz in Monticello, New York, Monticello. History In January 1988, Radio Catskill, Inc., received a construction permit for WJFF. The radio station's studio building was built on the north side of the Jefferson Lake dam. Spearheaded by Malcolm Brown and the enthusiasm of local residents, the station was constructed almost entirely by volunteer labor. The station sign-on, signed on January 20, 1990. Jeffersonville, New York
Jeffersonville is a village in Sullivan County, New York, United States. The population was 368 at the 2020 census. The name is derived indirectly from Thomas Jefferson. The Village of Jeffersonville is in the southeastern section of the Town of Callicoon on NY 52. The postal code is 12748. The Village of Jeffersonville is home to the Sullivan West Central School elementary school. History The original settlers arrived and called the village Winkelried. The first hotel in the village was The Jefferson House, named after President Jefferson, and the village was subsequently renamed to Jeffersonville. A broadcast relay station, also known as a satellite station, relay transmitter, broadcast translator (U.S.), re-broadcaster (Canada), repeater (two-way radio) or complementary station (Mexico), is a broadcast transmitter which repeats (or transponds) the signal of a radio or television station to an area not covered by the originating station. It expands the broadcast range of a television or radio station beyond the primary signal's original coverage or improves service in the original coverage area. Sullivan County, New York
Sullivan County is a county in the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2020 census, the population was 78,624. The county seat is Monticello. The county's name honors Major General John Sullivan, who was labeled at the time as a hero in the American Revolutionary War in part due to his successful campaign against the Iroquois (see Sullivan Expedition). ''Morning Edition'' is an American radio news program produced and distributed by NPR. It airs weekday mornings (Monday through Friday) and runs for two hours, and many stations repeat one or both hours. The show feeds live from 5:00 to 9:00 AM ET, with feeds and updates as required until noon. The show premiered on November 5, 1979; its weekend counterpart is ''Weekend Edition''.
