WGTK (970 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Louisville, Kentucky. It is owned by Word Media Group and it airs a conservative talk radio format. Similar to many Salem Media Group talk stations, it calls itself "970 The Answer." Its studios and offices are on Corporate Campus Drive in Louisville, while its transmitter is on Hamburg Pike in Jeffersonville, Indiana. On weekdays, WGTK runs the entire line up of Salem Radio Network syndicated talk shows: Hugh Hewitt, Mike Gallagher, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Larry Elder and Joe Walsh. WGTK had aired a local midday show with former WHAS host Joe Elliott but that was discontinued in the Fall of 2015. The station begins most hours with co-owned Townhall Radio News. WKVG (94.5 MHz) is a radio station in Greenville, South Carolina, serving Upstate South Carolina including the Greenville- Spartanburg radio market. WKVG is owned and operated by the Educational Media Foundation, and is an affiliate of K-Love. WKVG has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts, the maximum for most FM stations. The transmitter is on Tower Road in Travelers Rest. WKVG broadcasts using HD Radio technology. WKVG is north western South Carolina's primary entry point station for the Emergency Alert System. History WMUU-FM Bob Jones University (BJU) applied for an AM license in May 1948. It was granted a construction permit with a new station signing on the air on September 15, 1949. WWFY (100.9 FM, "Froggy 104.3 & 100.9") is a radio station licensed to serve Berlin, Vermont. The station is owned by Great Eastern Radio. It airs a country music format. The station has been assigned these call letters by the Federal Communications Commission since May 21, 1999. In the 1990s, the station, as WGTK, aired a classic rock format under the name "K101". They marketed themselves as "The Champlain Valley's classic rock station". In 1999, K101, while keeping the classic rock format, switched frequencies to 93.7, and became WRRO "The Arrow". While WWFY has broadcast to the Barre- Montpelier area since October 2000, the 100.9 frequency was originally allocated over the mountains in Middlebury, where the station signed on as WCVM-FM on April 2, 1975. WCVM-FM was a sister to WFAD (1490 AM) in Middlebury, and operated as a class A facility at 3000 watts. At its sign-on, WCVM-FM carried an automated oldies format which lasted for several years.
