WGHT (1500 kHz AM) is a radio station owned by the Borough of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey and licensed to serve the same municipality. The station simulcasts Warwick, New York station WTBQ's full-service format, and is a "daytimer" signing on at dawn and off at dusk, to protect other stations on the 1500 kHz frequency, i.e. clear-channel stations. History Original WKER era WGHT originally signed on as WKER, with FCC records showing WKER's license being granted as of May 27, 1965, and with station call letters representing its founder, Bob Kerr. Kerr published an industry guide called the KERRadio Album Digest, and provided syndicated programming to stations in the US and Canada. Kevin Burkhardt (born ) is an American sportscaster. He is currently the lead play-by-play voice for the ''NFL on Fox'' and lead studio host for ''Fox Major League Baseball''. Burkhardt was formerly a reporter with SportsNet New York (SNY) during New York Mets telecasts from 2007 to 2014. He also called select Mets games during both spring training and the regular season during that time. He has been the primary studio host for Major League Baseball (MLB) telecasts on Fox and FS1 since the 2014 season. WTBQ is an independent radio station broadcasting from Warwick, New York. The last locally-owned radio station in Orange County, New York (and one of the few in the entire Hudson Valley), WTBQ broadcasts on 1110 AM and 93.5 FM, throughout Orange County and Northern New Jersey. The station has a diversified format consisting of news, oldies music, specialty music shows, talk shows, and specialty programming. History Local media figure Ed Klein brought WTBQ to air July 27, 1969 with studios originally located in the village of Warwick. The call letters come from Klein's young daughter's affection for her teddy bear.
